I wouldn't be thrilled about S31 appearing, but if they took her to develop an ideal, augmented soldier, it could explain the isolation.Ugh.

No, he also knows that she received a totally unreasonable sentence of not being able to contact anyone at all on the outside. That's a ridiculous sentence that we don't even apply to serial killers! But surely in the other timeline he would have done everything possible and that didn’t work.
Only difference now is that he’s aware of James Kirk. Maybe he’ll ask him to do one of his epic speeches and that will convince Starfleet to let her go.
Geez, yeah. Kirk, and TOS Kirk in particular, is my favorite ST captain. But I've got the TOS blu rays and can watch Kirk anytime. This is SNW's time to shine. I'd rather have no Kirk in SNW to be honest--unless it's like season 7 and they're doing the handoff. The fact that Kirk is here at all irks me. Not because I'm anti-Kirk but because I'm wanting as much of Pike and Spock as possible before Kirk kicks Pike out "because Star Trek. "
Here's an idea they skip TOS and go right to the movie era with a Kirk show set between TMP and TWOK. They already have a monster maroon design,Geez, yeah. I would enjoy that a lot.I wouldn't be thrilled about S31 appearing, but if they took her to develop an ideal, augmented soldier, it could explain the isolation.
Kirk is my third favorite, behind Robau, and Pike (even before SNW). I don't mind how he has been presented here but I prefer less than more. And Season 2 is on thin ice now.Geez, yeah. My druthers would be that the next series takes place in the 25th century just after Picard S3 and other series start working forward from there--relatively unencumbered by canon. Here's an idea they skip TOS and go right to the movie era with a Kirk show set between TMP and TWOK. The Cage was always one of my favorite episodes and a key ingredient of that is Pike. So, I've liked him from the start. He was also a key part of my favorite season of Discovery.Kirk is my third favorite, behind Robau, and Pike (even before SNW). I don't mind how he has been presented here but I prefer less than more. Don't worry we won't see Scotty yet - we're getting a new different engineer. https://www.esquire.com/entertainment/tv/a40361637/star-trek-strange-new-worlds-season-2/
Plus Una and La'an are definitely both returning, IMO. Hold the faith![]()
Which, oddly, inspires me more. I think the more people build up the dread, the hatred, the negativity, the better Wesley will do.I'll be honest, I didn't like Wesley as Kirk much at all. While I never wanted a lot of Kirk in SNW, I didn't mind the idea too much. However, after seeing him in Quality of Mercy, I'm now kind of dreading it for season 2.
Glad you're inspired. Although, obviously my perception, as well as everyone else's, will have no bearing on his performance. So, I'm sure there's no rational reason to feel inspired.Which, oddly, inspires me more. I think the more people build up the dread, the hatred, the negativity, the better Wesley will do.
Anyone who gets that much hate gets a break from me. I always will favor the underdog and the less popular in my fiction.Glad you're inspired. Although, obviously my perception, as well as everyone else's, will have no bearing on his performance. So, I'm sure there's no rational
That's cool.Anyone who gets that much hate gets a break from me. I always will favor the underdog and the less popular in my fiction.

Original Pike wouldn't know the sentence. Our Pike does and will undoubtedly take actions before the trial.
Both La'an and Spock say Una's doing time because of her "deception" with Spock adding he thought Pike was always aware of her secret. Which would certainly suggest her sentence is because she's an augment. We don't know that this sentence is directly because of the augment thing. She could have gotten off with some probation and then had the extreme sentence because of something else.
Yeah, I feel like the timeline is completely screwed at this point and the show just isn't in the same universe anymore. Shame, because I was enjoying it, until I realized its just Mirror Universe 3.0 (I say 3.0 instead of 2.0, because Pikard already did the 2.0 thing with their 'dark future' stuff). The only wild card factor is James Kirk, who Pike is now aware of 7 years before they meet in the bad future timeline. Well, that and Pike now knows what Romulans look like years before anyone else in the Fed.
He's going to be the younger version, the one who hasn't lived that alternate reality. So hopefully he'll be more fun. Hopefully...I'll be honest, I didn't like Wesley as Kirk much at all. The Lt. Kirk who was a stack of books with legs and read "longhair" writers? He's going to be the younger version, the one who hasn't lived that alternate reality. So hopefully he'll be more fun. Hopefully...
I liked how he didn't confirm or deny Spock's assumption either. Maintain plausible deniability. Which he'll have to do in prime U as well, if he has any hope of helping her. Otherwise, I assume he'd be up on charges himself. Both La'an and Spock say Una's doing time because of her "deception" with Spock adding he thought Pike was always aware of her secret.
