It has nothing to do with preserving anyone. It's a bunch of corporate execs trying to work out how to make more money off the dead.Hollywood is already trying to figure out how to "Deep Fake" and preserve all the old actors for time immemorium.
But it's not them. It's a stand-in with a dead persons face ghoulishly superimposed onto them. In the case of Majel Barrett it would just be a computer or sound engineer cutting and pasting old sound clips to form sentences.The way I see it, it's appreciating the work of somebody who has passed; it's one more method of memorializing a dead persons work / legacy and paying honor and tribute to them.
It's not memorializing or paying tribute the dead. It's Bernie Lomaxing them so they can continue to make money off them.
