A thrilling novel leading into the new CBS series, Una McCormack’s The Last Best Hope introduces you to brand new characters featured in the life of beloved Star Trek captain Jean-Luc Picard—widely considered to be one of the most popular and recognizable characters in all of science fiction.

I guess it's a prequel novel to Picard, but unfortunately it will come out after the premier. So not likely to have any spoilers for the show... unless a digital copy leaks somehow to the internet before the premier ;) Weirder things have happened...

I like the cover photo with Picard with his combadge.I'm looking forward to reading another novel by Una McCormack

Sounds promising. I love everything Una McCormack writes, so this is definitely a must-read

Very disappointing and does not match my expectations these past thirty years. Therefore this show is automatically a turd and I'll only be hatewatching with an inclination to abandon it at a moment's notice. Because reasons.

;)
Bravo, sir.

The Last Best Hope...

... if this a prequel to Picard, then it has to end in either despair or a glimmer of hope that one day things might get better even if not now, and the time is to lay low. End rampant speculation mode.

Star Trek FB group is very civilized. I’m actually shocked. Here the mods don’t let anything get too out of hand, but it does happen.

I'm only a member of a few Star Trek Facebook Groups, but I don't post in them too often. At least with the ones I'm in, they have strict rules against attacking other series and slant very pro series in question. So because the members of said groups agree with each other about the series in question -- and don't talk about where they disagree in regards to other series -- it's not very conductive to disagreements that snowball into something worse.

It sounds good in theory but, in my opinion, it's almost a little too good. It makes people lazy because they don't have to defend what they like. Everyone's already on their side.
