Star Trek: Picard: The Last Best Hope (novel)

If the Enterprise E appears Worf could show up on the show. Although 18 years as of 2399 is a long time to be captain, he likely wouldn't still be commanding the Enterprise. But maybe that Michael Dorn signature in the behind the scenes photo means something after all.

I'm not too keen Worf went back to Starfleet after he became Ambassador to Qo'nos in DS9. Then I noted he became ambassador in 2375 and was back for Nemesis in 2379. More than enough time to realistically have a 4 year term as ambassador, find he didn't like it, then go back to Starfleet.

Dorn's quest for a Captain Worf spin-off could likely be coming true then. The question is: Would Worf appear as a TNG Worf or Worf after a Discovery-style makeover??

Kurtzman has already stated publicly that IF Worf were to appear in a future episode, he'd most likely pretty much look the same.
But will he still be captain? He should still be so since Klingons age slower.

I suppose he could be.
Depends on where the Writers of the show want to go with the character IF They actually decide to use him in PICARD.

If he didn't want to give it up he could!

Kirk must've racked up 20 years as Captain of the Enterprise, and Picard's probably not that far off, and he was supposed to have been Captain of the Stargazer for about 20+ years as well.

I hope they eventually crush that non-sense, as that is one of the worst aspects of the ongoing Trek universe.

One of my favorite things so far in the book, is that LaForge is already packing his shit to go to Mars, before ever talking to Picard.

I'm only a couple of chapters in so far, but I'm really loving it. I particularly like how it demonstrates the sheer enormity and complexity of evacuating billions of people from such a large area of space, the resources needed to build such a fleet in a timely fashion, and where those evacuees would go. Those kind of details would be lost on the show in exposition that would eat away at the running time.

I also love that the ship that Picard uses to lead the rescue operation is called Verity, named after Una's daughter who is in turn named after Verity Lambert, the co-creator of Doctor Who.

Which makes sense, because Worf already has appeared in Star Trek Picard. There was a shot of him next to Picard in the images that flashed up when the FNN reporter was interviewing Picard in episode one. And he had his TNG look.
