Those both still give me goose bumps. And the teaser for 09, all I could think was 'Damn, now that is a teaser!'
I don't remember watching those because I think I originally went to see this movie with a friend and that's how I became a fan.

My favorite trailer is the one from Star Trek (2009) with "the wait is over" at the tail end.

I'm partial to the original teaser to First Contact. I was 11 years old and remember seeing this play right before Independence Day. At that age, this trailer hit all the right notes for me.

Looking back at First Contact, I want the movie that takes place in the alternate timeline where the Borg had assimilated Earth.

Yeah, the promotion building up to the release of Godzilla was outstanding. The movie was... not as good, to put it mildly, but still pretty fun if you can overlook all the dumb.

I really liked the trailers to Star Trek 09. Also liked the teaser to TUC with the images on the enterprise.

I don't remember many random teasers long-term, but the one with the guy fishing is one that's always stayed with me.

(To add to the post above)
And you can't beat Orson Welles doing the voice-over for the TMP trailer. I'd like to know how they ever got that to happen!
With extreme difficulty.

Before Wise became a director in his own right he worked as an editor at RKO Studios where he cut several of Welles’ films, including “Citizen Kane.” He also edited “The Magnificent Ambersons,” and when RKO executives were displeased with the film while Welles was out of the country on another shoot, Wise helped supervise the removal of an hour of scenes and directed the shooting of a new, happier ending. Welles was understandably displeased with the changes; according to Bloch, he still held a grudge against Wise for “Ambersons” more than thirty years later.

But now Welles was being paid to advertise Wise’s film, to say his name with as much awe and import as he could muster. According to Bloch, that proved to be a struggle. Every time they would come to Wise’s name, Welles’ would intentionally botch it. Bloch did an impression of Welles sneering “A Robert Wise Film” — deep and gravelly and full of contempt — which print simply can’t do justice to. Just think of the person you hate most in the universe, then say his or her name with as much bile and disgust as you can muster. Then multiply that by 1000% and you’re close.

So how long did it take to get Welles to say “A Robert Wise Film” properly according to Bloch?

“About an hour.”

Welles was a notorious ballbuster in the recording studio (although it also worked the other way around with the sound engineers giving you crap, so some of his complaints are legitimate).

I love the final trailer to TUC. It's thrilling and has its own music composed by Cliff Eidelman. I never liked the teaser. It told me nothing about the movie and it was filled with all of the fanwank that makes Trekkies all the nerdier: "They were our guides, out heroes and our friends." Way to over the top for me. We ARE still talking about fictional characters. But I digress....

The trailer for TSFS was a jaw dropper when I first saw it. The, I think, teaser for TMP was hilarious. Not the Orson Wells one, but that boring guy. It ended with the organ music and the oh so 70's rainbow effects. It was like a commercial for an ELO album.

First Contact had a great trailer, too. ID was also great...

Perhaps not one of the best, but this promised more action than we got in the movie:

Nemesis pushed the bad guy. All the trailers started slow and built up to a montage crescendo.

The Nemesis teaser had footage of the buggy chase without the colorized sky
