Lalla Ward is the best Romana, though on average, the stories Mary Tamm was in were better.
What Part of Baker Run Your Favorite?

I guess I go both with and against the grain: I love both Mary's and Lalla's Romanas equally.
Probably Seasons 14-16. By that time Baker had made the role his own and he was at the height of his powers. Season 17 is probably my least favorite of his (except for "City of Death").
Oddly enough, while I'm not really a fan of Baker's Doctor (particularly toward the end of his tenure) some of my favourite ever serials are from his era. I like the Sarah Jane and Leela period best.

Anywhere in the Leela run. But really I don't dislike any of his run till near the end. Sure there's some bad stories. But his run overall was pretty fun. Similar to the current doctor being a fun ride. I liked the first 2 doctors in this new run. And Tennant was amazing as the doctor but looking back the first 4 series and there's a lot of episodes that are hard to watch again. That's not as true with the Matt Smith run to me.
If I were to pick years it would be about 13-15 somewhere around there. Later on though it started to change a tone to more like it would be for the 5th doctor which was okay, but it didn't fit Baker that well.

Invasion of Time & the Key to Time series
I really loved Romana I (NOT II!!!) and K-9 and this is when the Doctor is silly before he gets all depressing in the later years and after he's all serious in the early years. "'Invasion of Time", "Pirate Planet", and "Stones of Blood" are my all time favorite classic episodes.

Quick question here: Does anybody who state they like the Romana years actually find Lalla Ward attractive? I did as a teenager and just the other night had a dream that she and the Tom Baker Doctor travelled to my neighborhood to give out goodies to all the children.

I think there was something special going on when the Doctor and Romana II were the mainstay of the Tardis crew. A pity JN-T ruined this with aspects of Season Eighteen.
The Key to Time Series. Loved Douglas Adams as script editor. The Pirate Planet is definately one of my all time favorites.
Romana vs. Romana??? Difficult to compare because both women's approach to the character were so different. I have to go with Mary Tamm. Her arrogance was funny...and her clothing was gorgeous.
A terrific lady too. I sat down at a con in 80s and had a 45 minute conversation with her just on the wardrobe she chose for the character.

Have to say the Baker-Ward duo probably is my overall favorite of the entire Tom Baker run. I just loved how both characters interacted with one another, and the chemistry was tantalising. Things reached a peak with them and things were never the same after Ward left.
