Aperantly time traveling Darth Vader came down From Planet Vulcan, shredding Van Halen, and told a young Gene Roddenbbery that if the Borg didn't look like this, that he'd melt his brain -

What would the Borg look like in Star Trek? They'd probably look like Roger Korby. Frankly the Borg, especially in TNG, looked low budget and pretty ridiculous. I think the producers of Star Trek would've just had the Borg be human looking with an occasional panel opening to reveal their circuit boards ala Norman and predating Steve Austin's similar look. It was much more cost efficient that way and didn't have to worry about coming up with or damaging any costumes.
