Sitting on the couch, scrolling on my phone, while hubby does the taxes.
I understand each and every one of these words, but I do not know what they mean???…Called the Canal Tender for water this morning. I started taking water from the Irrigation District pipeline to flood part of my parcel for the first time this season.
Canal Tender - Employee of the Irrigation District that controls the canals in a portion of the district (service area).
The pipeline takes water out of the canal where the inlet is higher than my property.
Parcel - the area of the property I am irrigating.
Flood Irrigate - I open a valve off the pipeline about a 1/4 of a mile away to pressurize the private pipe that supplies water to the different valves on my property. I open all the valves on my property, the lowest area floods first, I close that valve, then the next lowest area floods and repeat until the highest part of the property I irrigate is watered.
When I'm done (usually takes 12 hours) I shut the valve off at the pipeline 1/4 mile away, and close the last valve on my property, after the private pipeline is drained.
Getting ready to go to the place I went yesterday to put out trash bins for today's trash pickup, so I can put the bins away, and refill the yard waste container, with what I couldn't cram in yesterday.
