Spoilers Vixen - Web Series

^^
I doubt they'll do another live action show till at least one of the current ones goes off air.

Ah, so season 2 will be set before Vixen's Arrow appearance. Makes sense -- animation takes longer to produce than live action, so there'd be much more of a delay between when it was written (and therefore what point in the continuity it aligned with) and when it was released.

Just a quick correction...

The article I saw said this...

In more crossover news, Cassidy will also be voicing Laurel Lance on season two of "Vixen." According to EW, season two of "Vixen" will explain how Laurel and Mari McCabe (Megalyn Echikunwoke) first met.

But the article they referenced doesn't actually state that this will happen.

Cassidy will also lend her voice to the animated Flash-Arrow spin-off Vixen as Earth-1 Laurel Lance in season 2. As you may recall, when Megalyn E.K. brought Mari McCabe to life on Arrow, the heroines seemed to already know each other.

Season 2 might in fact deal with how they met but at this point it's just speculation on their part.

First look at season two with Flash and Firestorm.

So Jax is part of Firestorm, but apparently it's set before Laurel died. So this would have to be sometime in the past season, presumably sometime between late October (when Jax joined with Stein) and late January (when they left on the Waverider). Which means it's less than four months before Vixen's appearance on Arrow. Yet Vixen's hair here is still extremely short. There's no humanly possible way it could grow to the length seen on Arrow in just a few months -- it'd probably take a couple of years. So either Mari's wearing a wig in the Arrow episode, or she summoned the power of an animal that grows hair really fast. (Of course, the reason her hair's that long in the live-action episode is because the producers decided not to hide her real hair under a short wig.)

I was surprised they did not update Vixen's character design to closer match her live action look. Maybe the shorter hair is easier to animate...

Animation has a really long lead time. They were probably already making this by the time Arrow shot Vixen's guest appearance. That's why these "seasons" are set so far in the past compared to the live-action shows.

Hmm, so I wonder if the Oct. 14 announcement was a mistake or if they suddenly realized afterwards that it wouldn't be done by then.

They probably just decided to save it for later.
They've got 2 Arrowverse shows premiering the week before, and 2 others that week, I reckon it would be more effective to release it when those shows go on hiatus.

Let me give some insight... African-American women (such as my wife) often wear wigs or have hair extensions, which often white males might not realize is the case. So while in realityit was her own real hair, we can pretend it was a wig or extension...and simply for fashion reasons
