Spoilers Vixen - Web Series

Cartoons have had innuendos that went over kids' heads since the days of Betty Boop and Bugs Bunny. Heck, not just cartoons -- the Adam West Batman had some pretty blatant innuendos, like Catwoman telling her henchman "You can brush my pussywillows."

So what animal gave her the spin kick moves?

And that's where everyone hides their secret family heirlooms for years...in an otherwise-empty kitchen cabinet above the paper towel roll. No random guest will find that conspicuous when they're looking for a coffee cup.

Interesting that the end credits list the creators for Cisco, Felicity, and Vixen (with Gerry Conway as the writer in all three cases -- busy guy), but not for the Flash or Green Arrow (unless I missed that screen). I guess the newer creators worked under better contracts that ensured them credit in adaptations. It's piecemeal which characters get creator credits at the end of DC shows. Although I don't remember seeing Cisco or Felicity creator credits in the end titles of The Flash or Arrow.

Conway recently made a very public stink about DC comic creator royalties and credit. Since then, he has been given the writing assignment on a new DC title and, evidently, credit for some of his creations in DC adaptations. Probably as belated reparations and a quick way to shut him up on social media.

This is the first episode I felt was truly wasted by the format. The others seemed to add something of substance that made it an episode. This one felt like it was a first act. It ended so abruptly when the plot finally started rolling.

Odd that they recreated the exterior of STAR Labs fairly accurately but totally redesigned the interior. And Barry and Cisco didn't look much like themselves. Plus I still can't get my head around the idea of Cisco wearing a shirt that doesn't have something hilariously geeky printed on it.

All that, plus a couple of urban legend vigilante types ringing a doorbell in full costume....

Anyway, since Cisco says this is their first "external" metahuman, this must take place before the Arrow episode involving Deathbolt, which was episode 3.19. Which isn't really surprising, since Arrow's still in his third-season green costume, which he abandoned in episode 3.20.

I think the doorbell-ringing scene could have worked if they'd been holding jack-o-lantern buckets to make themselves less conspicuous.

"Show us what's in the cabinet above your paper towel roll and nobody gets hurt!"

According to the Arrowverse wiki, Vixen takes place between "Nanda Parbat" & "The Offer".

"Does it look like I'm not trying?" Yes, Barry, it does. A cheetah's maximum speed is about 70-75 MPH. You can run faster than the speed of sound. You shouldn't have that much trouble outrunning her.

^Not to mention that Ollie was keeping up with both of them, and at one point got in front of them.

"I know, I know, I failed my city." I haven't watched that much of Arrow yet, would the general public be aware of that line?

So how does Barry skid to a stop to turn around and look at Mara flying when he was running down the side of a skyscraper? Or was that reaction in Flash-time?

Then there's Ollie outing Felicity and Felicity outing Barry in front of a metahuman that they just met....

If they follow the news about the Arrow, probably. I think it's been used in fairly public contexts.

He was standing on a ledge.

Only Ollie could hear Felicity on his earbud. Remember, Barry was standing right next to him and said "Say hi for me," which indicates that he couldn't hear her (though she could hear him).

Well, unless Mari was using the powers of a cat or dog to give herself super-hearing at that exact moment...

Didn't "the hoods" or whatever they were called at the beginning of season 2 say the line?

Is this thing an actual show, or just a bunch or shorts as a lead-in to the actual show/dvd-movie to come later? Because it just feels like a 30 min episode that's been chopped into 5 min segments.

Also, anyone else think it's way past time for Felicity to be given a codename? Especially if Olie is going to be addressing her over the radio right in front of people? I know, I know, the name "Felicity" alone wouldn't be much of anything to go on, but given how frequently The Hood/Arrow has been publicly associated with the Queen family, a simple keyword search and some basic deductive reasoning should be all that's required.

Let's be honest, at this point she's pretty much Oracle in all but name (and chair, obviously.) Mind you the same was true of Chloe in Smallville towards the end, but at least she took to calling her self "Watchtower" IIRC.
