Spoilers Vixen - Web Series

I would still love to get a third season. Especially since we probably won't see Mari in live action again with Amaya around and all.

But still, at some point the amulet needs to go back to the past in order to be passed down to Mari's mother.

I have every confidence that we'll see Mari again. I've always thought that Amaya's time with the Legends was temporary. And even if it isn't, it doesn't conflict with Mari dropping by to help Ollie, Barry or Grandma.

Seasons 1 and 2, along with additional scenes, will be combined into a single Vixen movie to be released in May:

Interesting... I wonder what the added footage will be.

The box art is a modification of the season 1 poster (seen in the first post of this thread), with her original costume replaced with her season 2/live action costume. That's good, because the season 1 costume was kind of ridiculous, hugging Mari's figure more like body paint than fabric -- oversexualizing her as well as making no physical sense. I wonder if they've reanimated it too.

I suspect part of the new footage will be to join the two seasons in the middle. It would be be jarring not to acknowledge her costume changes between seasons. 15 minutes is actually a lot of new material considering how short the actual episodes were. Close to getting 2 or 3 more episodes.

While this is great news, I did notice a jarring omission in the Bonus Features:

BLU-RAY & DVD FEATURES

• Vixen: Spirit Animal featurette
• Bruce Timm’s Top Picks:
- Episode from Justice League Unlimited, "Hunter's Moon"
- Episode from Justice League Unlimited, "Grudge Match"
Mari's live-action appearance in Arrow's "Taken".

I guess it has something to do with the fact that the animated productions are from a different corporate division of Warner Bros., despite being set in the Arrowverse. So the rights and clearances for including a live-action episode could be more complicated and expensive (especially since actors get more residuals for on-camera appearances than for voice work).

I wonder if the broadcast version will be cleaned up at all.;)

Is this the complete movie version with the added 15 minutes between seasons? I hope so -- I haven't seen that material yet.

The article mentions it "includes 15 minutes of all-new content." Not sure if that's it or not.

Anyway, this is good news. I never saw the second season. I'd also like to see Echikunmoke return in live action.

The article linked in Turtletrekker's post doesn't specify that; it just links to an older article about the DVD that does.

However, I checked, and the movie is 74 minutes long -- which makes sense, since each season was about 30 minutes long in total. And it's in a 2-hour time slot, which these days would normally translate to about 85 minutes of content plus commercials. And they say there are vignettes about the upcoming season, which probably make up for the extra 10 minutes. So it probably is the full movie.

Anyway, it makes sense that they'd want to air the movie now, given that Kuasa, who's featured in both seasons, is becoming a recurring villain on Legends this fall. Helps fill in the gap for the TV-only viewers.

Maybe they'll show a music video?

Amaya could stay with the show until the very end . . . and still go back to the 1940s to continue the Vixen line. As long as she eventually goes back.

I would love to watch this, since I haven't seen Season 2, but I have to work...:klingon:

Okay, they did include the new material added for the "movie" version, as I expected. Basically a side story showing how Mari got the hang of her powers by getting a job with an animal behaviorist at the zoo -- and, incidentally, designing her final costume. Nothing amazing, but it helps flesh things out a bit.

EDIT: Marc Guggenheim said in one of the interview segments that he grew up with the "Justice League Detroit" comics. That explains why so many members of that team have shown up in the Arrowverse -- Martian Manhunter, Vixen, Vibe, Gypsy, Steel, and now Elongated Man this season on The Flash. Given that Batman and Aquaman are unlikely to appear, that pretty much just leaves Zatanna (who might be off-limits due to the Justice League Dark movie plans).

I was hoping that once it aired that the extra 15 minutes and the interview segments would find their way onto CW.com, but no luck as yet. Oh well, I'll live.

I did find this however, an animated recreation of Vixen's first scene on Arrow, complete with the hair cut that Megalyn Echikunwoke worn in that episode.
