TREK series titles/names in German?

Someone told me a ways back that in German, STAR TREK was called "Starship Enterprise" (in German, naturally).

I'm assuming (correct me if wrong) that the second series was called "Starship Enterprise: The Next Generation" or something similar.

The third and fourth series, tho'? And the fifth as of season three?

What were Voyager, DS9, and Enterprise called in German?

I doubt they'd have said "Starship Enterprise: Deep Space Nine", and so on.

Anyone know?

The German titles have become more and more close to the original ones over the decades, probably due to increased international promotion and data exchange.

Star Trek (TOS): Raumschiff Enterprise (Spaceship Enterprise)
Star Trek (TAS): Die Enterprise (The Enterprise)
Star Trek: The Next Generation: Raumschiff Enterprise: Das nächste Jahrhundert (Spaceship Enterprise: The Next Century) [Sometimes the changes actually make sense]
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: Star Trek: Deep Space Nine [sounds indeed better than "Tiefraum Neun", as there is no commonly used translation for "deep space" in the German language]
Star Trek: Voyager: Star Trek: Raumschiff Voyager (Star Trek: Spaceship Voyager)
Star Trek: Enterprise: Star Trek: Enterprise

Star Trek: The Motion Picture: Star Trek: Der Film (Star Trek: The Motion Picture)
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan: Star Trek II: Der Zorn des Khan (Star Trek II: The Rage of Khan)
Star Trek III: The Search for Spock: Star Trek III: Auf der Suche nach Mr. Spock (Star Trek III: Searching for Mr. Spock)
Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home: Star Trek IV: Zurück in die Gegenwart (Star Trek IV: Back to the Present)
Star Trek V: The Final Frontier: Star Trek V: Am Rande des Universums (Star Trek V: At the Border of the Universe) [Then again, at other times they don't]
Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country: Star Trek VI: Das unentdeckte Land (Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country)
Star Trek: Generations: Star Trek: Treffen der Generationen (Star Trek: Encounter of the Generations)
Star Trek: First Contact: Star Trek: Der erste Kontakt (Star Trek: The First Contact)
Star Trek: Insurrection: Star Trek: Der Aufstand (Star Trek: The Rebellion)
Star Trek: Nemesis: Star Trek: Nemesis [Case in point: I very much doubt many Germans have ever heard the word "nemesis" or would know what it means].

I hope that helps.

Star Trek: The Next Generation: Raumschiff Enterprise: Das nächste Jahrhundert (Spaceship Enterprise: The Next Century) [Sometimes the changes actually make sense]
That was the original german title and the credits still say "Raumschiff Enterprise: Das nächste Jahrhundert", but in TV Guides and trailers etc. for repeats the show has been called "Star Trek: Das nächste Jahrhundert" for years.

Yup, that's right. Also, the individual episode titles have become almost exact translations.

[Case in point: I very much doubt many Germans have ever heard the word "nemesis" or would know what it means].
Why do you think that?

Star Trek: Nemesis: Star Trek: Nemesis [Case in point: I very much doubt many Germans have ever heard the word "nemesis" or would know what it means].

English isn't the only language borrowing from Greek myths, Nemesis is a perfectly valid German word with roughly the same meaning as arch enemy.

Heck, they even renamed Braga's series Threshold into Nemesis - Der Angriff (Nemesis - The Attack).

Star Trek III: Searching for Mr. Spock

that's kinda cool, cant explain why, but its just catchy

I did learn something from this thread. The two years of German language I studied in school long, long ago has almost faded from memory. :(

Heck, I lived in (then-West) Germany for a year in high school as an exchange student, and became fairly fluent, but after almost 24 years I've just about completely lost it. Which is very depressing.

I did buy the first Harry Potter book plus Pullman's Golden Compass in German on audio CD to listen to, which helps. But they were so expensive due to price + exchange rate + shipping (from Amazon.de to the U.S.) that I couldn't buy any others.

I do have a handful of Trek titles in German, including some of the Star Fleet Academy (or Starfleet Kadetten!), but I'm having trouble keeping up with my reading in England, let alone trying to read German, which takes 20 times longer.

But I am determined to make sure I don't lose it completely! ;)

Just a hunch - If you would ask randomly ten people in the street to tell you what "Nemesis" means, I doubt that more than one or two would know. As I am not in Germany, I don't have to do that test myself (lucky me :)).
But, of course, I would be happy to be proven that Germans are smarter than I gave them credit for!

That's nonsense. As Defcon pointed out, Nemesis is a regular German word. I'm quite sure at least eight out of ten people would know what it means. But then again, does that really have anything to do with intelligence? I have my doubts.
