So single hole (instead of Discovery’s three), now centered? And the front part is silver, like TOS, but attaches to the phaser body differently.
I like the look of it, but I liked Discovery’s props, too. And I do miss the needle tip that made the original phaser more futuristic space gun than real gun.

The original Star Trek Discovery 23rd Century phaser design appeared to be an evolution from the original laser pistols shown in the TOS pilot The Cage. They have the three lenses of The Cage's laser pistols; combined with a body that was more reminiscent of the later TOS Type II Hand Phaser design. I like them as they appeared as a nice evolution on the way to the way we know they'll eventually look in TOS.

I like that they're continuing the Hand Phaser evolution with this series as well.

YES! Loved Blade Runner and TRON. 1982 was also the year Knight Rider premiered. That was my favourite show as a kid. I always wanted to have a self-driving car. Fast forward to today, my Tesla navigates the freeways for me. Someone down the street from me also owns a studio model of KITT (exterior only). Sigh...

NOTE: we also had to worry about nuclear war ruining the party then.
