This really looks like the TV series I wanted to follow up 2009 Star Trek. I even love the Gold Key vibes of the Enterprise flying low over the alien city. Really, really hoping the writing lives up to the visuals.

There's definitely some considerable length of time that season 1 is covering, judging by the varying hairstyles, ranks, and uniforms the characters have in the various trailers they've released this week. Pike's hair goes from his Disco style, the Conan-esque bouffant, and then the pandemic woodsman. Chapel's hair has a couple of different lengths. Una changes things up a bit as well.

That looks wonderful, and by that I mean both “great” and “filled with wonders.” Terrific to see the franchise finally taking advantage of today’s visual effects to create truly strange new worlds. If nothing else, we’re in for a visual treat.
