I'm thinking there's some sort of gathering of crews in one episode, no other reason to wear them for identification. I am annoyed that the name is on there twice, should be the registry number on the bottom.
It looks like Pike and Spock may be wearing different badges. Could be some sort of training exercise.

First though I have to catch up on Lower Decks season 2. I'm not big into animation, but I like LD. Prodigy just looks too... generic kids animation... to get me really excited? If that makes sense?
I mean - this little montage is maybe the most clever thing Star Trek has done ever since ENT ended. I friggin' LOVE that hard cut from Hunter to Mount!
Hell, I wouldn't mind it if they straight up steal this idea to start the whole freakin' SNW series!
It's a fairly well told Star Trek story with a non Starfleet crew.
With DIsco and the Shenzhou on the list they might memorialize ships lost in service to the Federation.
I'm really liking it.
Something else for CBS to peddle to fans.
Gene would be proud.
