The Muppets

"Robot Kermit has no soul."

Too bad the show is gonna be retooled just when it's actually getting better. Loved Kermit trying to look out for Fozzy, and the Scooter/Chelsea Handler story was great, too.

I'd think Fozzie would be the deputy, because he's usually Kermit's sidekick. Or else Scooter would be the deputy. Gonzo would be the grizzled old prospector or something.

Hmm, yeah, thinking on it, I think you're right. I guess I thought it would be too obvious. But I do like the idea of Gonzo as prospector.

And yeah, Forbin, I was thinking Rolf would fit in there just fine. Miss Piggy owning the saloon would work. I could just picture Rizzo and his friends as the villains, giving Miss Piggy the opportunity to say, "We don't serve your kind here!" upon entering the saloon.

Strange things happen around town. Chickens are disappearing, cattle is too, and Gonzo is complaining of his claims being jumped...

Good episode, but Miss Piggy's voice was really off in parts of it.

Eric Jacobson's Piggy has always been a little wonky. He eventually settled into Fozzie and at this point his voice is the first I think of, but his Piggy has always been off. I can't quite put my finger on what it is, but maybe it's the cadence.

Yeah, Jacobson does an uncannily perfect Fozzie, but his Piggy's not quite as accurate. On the other hand, his Piggy is a considerably better singer than Frank Oz's Piggy was.

What did you guys think of the retooled show? I kind of gave up a few episodes into the first half of the season. As many others have said it just didn't feel like the Muppets. I'm glad I gave the show another chance. It wasn't perfect, but this felt like the Muppets and not just another work place comedy. It was great to hear the old theme. I hope they can keep this up!

Oh yeah, and Lew Zealand!

I thought it was incredibly unfunny. I laughed out loud a dozen times during Brooklyn Nine-Nine then suffered through this.

I'll give an "okay".
I had no idea who the two hipsters were.
I didn't want relationship angst in a puppet show.

I'm dragging out the old show on DVD to watch during dinner, and wishing they'd release the rest of the seasons.

Are you talking about Key and Peele?

The retooling wasn't as overt as I was afraid it would be, so that's good. I don't think I found anything particularly hilarious in this episode though, unlike the first half of the season.
