The Death Star in Rogue One

I would like to see all the blinky lights be perfectly in time with how they blinked in ANH.

I agree. The blinking lights and the type of lights used on TFA Falcon did not match the original ANH Falcon. I matched up phots and video bits to confirm. The materials used also looked different. Also scratches that were on the walls on the ANH Falcon were not there in TFA Falcon. They should have watched for things like that. It took me completely out of the film.

You were matching photos and videos while sitting there in the theater? How rude!

Nope I took stills of the dvds and still photos and matched up the Falcons. They did a pretty good job but some of the scaling is off as well as some scratches, panels, wiring etc. Still not a bad job all in all.

Have you considered she may have been touched up a bit over the 30 year gap? Some things repaired (like her dish, I bet Han made Lando replace it), some not, and some paint here and there? Han had a kitchen installed, and that bed where Chewie was being patched up on is actually new, it isn't the one Luke was on in ESB. This info is from the cross section book. http://static.independent.co.uk/s3f...16/01/05/14/millenniumfalcon-crosssection.jpg

She had gone through 3 owners before we see her again in TFA, one of which installed some sort of converter, who knows what else they did?

Though, apparently none of them touched the dejarik table since ANH, the pieces were in the same position as they were in ANH lol.

The BTS video on the Blu-Ray mentioned that specifically, they wanted to recreate that game, they even went and did it in practical stop motion, not CG.

Dude, evil empires are trying to take over the galaxy! Ain't nobody got time for dejarik!

As for the Death Star, I personally wouldn't mind seeing more of the construction, like different phases of the weapon testing and such. Also, as for the plans, I think they should be locked down in multiple facilities and our heroes are pursuing one copy while other teams do the same.

Also, the Death Star should be hollow.

I bet they're not actually going to be stealing the plans from the Death Star itself. It will only be a location where we see the bad guys.

Even more fitting, considering the Blockade Runner was made from the original Falcon design.

In the final model in the movie however, the dish is more curved on the top and bottom, but it is still basically the same.

I thought this was a nice touch, since they're both Corellian ships:

They were both Corellian ships under the old canon. The Falcon is still Corellian thanks to TFA(:techman:), but I don't know if the blockade runner being a Corellian ship has been preserved anywhere in the new canon.

It's worth noting that in ANH the only ships said to be of Corellian make were "big" Imperial starships, probably a reference to Star Destroyers, but the EU ignored that.

Well to be fair, later on we do see that the Star Destroyers were gaining on the Falcon, so perhaps "the big Corellian" Imperial starships Han mentioned were something else.
Perhaps even this type which we've seen in Rebels blockading planets. Yeah, I know it says Kuat but the design always looked like a carry on from this, which is definitely Corellian. Perhaps it's Corellian designed but Kuat got the construction contract. Or Han was talking about something else altogether.

I think it's safe to say most of the minutia of ship designations, manufacturers and the like will just be carried straight over from the EU. It's way to much effort to make up new names for everything and for the most part there's simply no need.

Yeah, most EU companies are still canon.

Interestingly enough, they changed the A-Wing's manufacturer, it is Kuat now instead of Incom/The Alliance themselves

Might be because of the Jedi Starfighters, they have similar designs.

That's interesting. I wonder if we'll get to see non-Rebellion A-Wings in use.
The Empire seems to use TIEs exclusively by this period, but perhaps the A-Wings were the immediate successor of the old V-Wing (another Kuat ship apparently) after the Clone Wars and only recently phased out in favour the TIE series. I suppose it's possible they're still used by local security forces or by the likes of the Mining Guild and other corporate forces.

Actually, if they're anything like the rest of the Rebel fleet then it seems quite possible they were "stolen" from Alderaan.
