The Blacklist, Season 2 Discussion

In Memoriam
Our favorite king of maniacal laughter and his Fumbling Bunch of Idiot patsies are back for another season of fun.

Premieres Monday, Sept. 22.

I'm actually quite excited about the return of The Blacklist. Anyone else hear ominous music everytime you say or type The Blacklist?

I skipped this show last year, because it just didn't seem that interesting. But Netflix added it recently, so I binged this past week. I liked it better than I thought I would, but solely because of Spader. Omit him from the show, and there really isn't much there, there. I also think it should be a 12 eps per season shows. I found several of the fillers to be utterly dreadful.

That said, I've already set-up the DVR for Monday.

Boy, this show has really grown on me, from a mild interest to actually being excited to see where the story goes next. Solid opening episode. They're clearly trying to hook new viewers; they introduce Red in the middle of a big shoot out car chase in Africa, then introduce Lizzy lounging around in her sexy underwear

I do feel that the schizo hidden personality thing was a new level of comic book insanity for this show, though

I think the Berlin storyline has run its course. He was interesting when he was faceless and mysterious, but now he's just a walking muhaha cliché. I don't really seen anywhere they can go with the character that won't seem repetitive and trite. It's time to take Berlin's breath away and move on to the Alda cabal. MLP is always nice, though.

Been looking forward to this season starting just to get to see Spader again. He really is remarkable as Reddington.

Yep. For me, it's Spader. Everything else is irrelevant. I just want to see Red do his thing.

I was really looking forward to the second season, but for some reason I didn't really get into the first episode. It was still worth watching but it didn't capture me just yet. Hopefully it gets better soon.

Well, the opening sequence was pretty magnificent. Liked the Lord Baltimore aspect of it but I'm not getting into the ex-wife thing, though. I hope that doesn't drag out all season.

Well if the commercials didn't hit you over the head enough time, I guess it's pretty obvious by now that behind that locked door is
where Liz is holding Tom.

Yeah, I think that's it's incredibly obvious.

And, really, why the HELL didn't Lizzie shoot that guy? He had the remains in tote bags, so even if he dropped them, he wouldn't have exposed the entire area. She could have easily shot him in the head, taken the bags and the whole episode would've never happened.

It seemed really, really stupid for her to just stand there. Don't the PTB realize that Spader's character would look even MORE awesome if the FBI characters didn't come off as complete asshats?

Also from this episode, I LOVED Reddington at the DMV. "It's like you PURPOSEFULLY set out to make people suffer!" I like that he bought a new soda machine; that was great. I also liked seeing the guy from Fringe again; he's very distinctive.

Yeah, it's bones, not anything weaponized. Knee cap him, done.

Spader is a joy to watch, and it's great, not even Red can get around the DMV.:guffaw:

I'm enjoying this season so far, but it feels like it's taking a while to get going. I know they're setting stuff up for this season still, but I wish they'd get it together already, lol!

Is it just me, or is Megan Boone not wearing a wig anymore?

No, she's not wearing the wig anymore, thank God. I think some one even said, "I like your haircut," or words to that effect.

She looks sooooo much better without the "helmet o' hair," I think.
