Star Trek Timelines

^^^
Not been part of a fleet before, but I can join if you'll have me. Level 49 player, pushing the character limit with about 10 purples maxed out and a lot more on the way. My username in STT is the same as here.

Now, with the 2.0 update, achievements have been added accompanying daily missions, which offers 100 dillithium for the first immortalized character as well as the 10th (not sure if there's more after that yet).
I can confirm that this particular achievement runs up to at least 100, that's the one I'm looking at now, for a 500 dil reward.

Feel free to apply. Search for "TrekBBS Armada" in the fleet section to join. We're close to having a full squadron too and an event is starting soon.

The immortalized achievement goes beyond 100, the next tier is to 125 with a 500 dilithium reward. I'm working toward that one and willlet you know if it goes further.

Welcome to the fleet!

I used to level multiple characters together but realized maxing out a few (one engineer, one command, etc.) makes life easier.

Agreed, also it largely depends on your game philosophy. Free to play, monthly card, pay to play.

I'd recommend trying to get 3-4 to max. Use the wiki to see which ones are easy vs. difficult to level. That may help things move along a little smoother for you.

Indeed it does. It also helps to get a few good green crew early on to do cadet challenges with - the rewards from those will make it a lot easier to level up your characters in general. Personally I'd recommend trying to get as many female alien Starfleet characters leveled up as you can for those, as they can then be used for all 3 types of weekday challenge. Good examples include Melora Pazlar, Sito Jaxa and Naomi Wildman.

I like the game. The space battles are the closest thing android has to Star Trek Bridge Commander or Star Trek Legacy (my favorite Trek games next to Armada), the PvP section is fun (my Borg Queen is a beast in her field), and the events unlock what the lack of free dillithium would buy you (even better with a monthly pass).

The away missions could be expanded. Is Episode 7 as far as the story goes or am I missing something? The challenges add to it but I liked reading the stories. They feel like Trek episodes.

I'm in. Hopefully we can get a good squadron together. I'm currently getting thousands with my current squad (and I'm racking up quite a bit for them too).

I just received 3000 chronitons for free as a thanks for playing. They're not that greedy.
I get those too. Try to save them for events!

It seems a bunch of people returned to check out the update. Shame, I was kicking butt in the PvP section. Now, I can't even break the top 100.

Once they added the daily mission for PvP battles, it was inevitable that people would pay attention to it again.

No problemo. Glad I could help!

I've gotten some good science crew over the 17 months I've been playing. A lot of them are from events rather than portal pulls.

Science is indeed not that common - and the 3 characters I currently have maxed for it are indeed al event ones (1701 Jadzia, and Ambassador Sarek and Outlaw Kim who have it as their 2nd skill). Engineering is my current bane though, I don't have any good ones to use in the gauntlet.

Yay John de Lancie's intro's are back on the start up. :3 :3 :3

Didn't realise they'd gone. Admittedly I tend to play it mostly on mute or really quiet these days.

As for science - what is a really good character to have? I was trying to max 1701 Jadzia but reading @Tirius's comment above, I don't know if I should bother. I already have the following science characters - can someone recommend a good one to max out? Especially in relation to using in the Gauntlet.

1701 Jadzia, Arik Soong, Temporal Agent Seven, Kurak, Ambassador Sarek, Ambassador Spock, Mademoiselle de Neuf, Captain Q, Commander T'Pol, Human Q, Mirror Jennifer Sisko, Hologram Barclay, Rogue Harry Kim, Formal Dress Wesley Crusher, Claiborne Chekov, Laas, Princess Jadzia, Professor Scott, Forra Gegen, Tuvix, Warship Janeway, Drone Seven of Nine, Lore, Locutus of Borg, Assimilated Tuvok, Sybok and Admiral Picard.

I'm thinking Ambassador Sarek, Arik Soong and Mademoiselle de Neuf.

I'm going for the Formal Dress Wesley in the upcoming event. Right now I'm working with Seven in blue, who's lacking. I had Jadzia from the last event, but didn't want her in costume. I'm trying to build a dream crew but the costumed characters take me out of it, and I already have ensign Wesley as my only prodigy. Replacing him with a better Wesley, with science, seems like a good choice.

I got lucky on my weekly pack pull (saved daily dilithium) and got the new Kira. With the current error in her artwork (extra rank pip), she's a perfect match for Kira's appearance as captain of DS9 in the post-finale novels, which I love, so I'm rather happy with that. And @bbjeg, I feel sort of similarly about the costumed characters, but some do have very nice artwork (the RAF variants of O'Brien and Bashir are some of my favorites in the game). My long-term goal is a maxed purple for each of the main cast, but I fear I'll have to allow a few costumed ones to complete the lineup.

I just got Phoenix Cochran who seems like he'd be the best science crewman I'd have after maxing him out. I'm still looking for a three star female crewman for the cadet challenges. I only have two and I'm probably going to miss today's event.

I haven't figured out a good combo for the weekend challenges yet either - just using what's on hand at the moment. This weekend's blue event ranked reward won't help either, human males can't be used on either weekend challenge. So far I've been using Kes for Medical, Gilora Rejal for Science and a bit of Engineering and Cretak for Diplo. Command is my main concern, all the Duras sisters I've airlocked are somewhere laughing at me... ;)

A few suggestions for you on Science crew:

1701 Jadzia has a strong base science skill. (813 when fully fused and she'll be event crew next event)

Temporal Agent Seven has good base combinations of skill. 599 Science, 586 Security & 512 Engineering. (Fully fused) She is quite useful in faction missions requiring skill combos.

Formal Dress Wesley, you may be able to fully fuse this event and I found leveling him up on the easier side. EDIT: one of the reasons he was easier for me to level was that I had a large stockpile of common holodeck programs. Without that stockpile, it's a ton of replicating them and farming them from Section 31 shuttle missions.

Princess Jadzia has a stronger base skill than 1701 Jadzia, and she was easier to level.

Ambassador Sarek has good proficiencies for the Gauntlet.
