"In the season 1 finale, just as Captain Pike thinks he’s figured out how to escape his fate, he’s visited by his future self, who shows him the consequences of his actions." - TrekMovie.com

Even Pike's future self hates him. I find it very hard to believe that a future Pike, who presumably can time travel anywhere and anytime he wants, has literally no other option to avert the galaxy ending bad future he's from other than telling his past self to go get fried. It's like Picard taking Kirk right up to Soran to die, instead of going back in time to the Enterprise when Soran was onboard and taking him into custody.

Since the former is what actually happened, I don't put too much faith in the thought processes of Starfleet officers. ;)

I can't believe this is the last episode of the season. Its going to be a year until we see more. They need to up the episode count to maybe 13. Well at least we got 10 wholly individual adventures to think about unlike other shows that only have one adventure per 10 or 13 episode season.

What I want to know is how does Pike being there make the events of BOT worse? Somehow it has gone from one Romulan vessel attacking border outposts to what apparently is a full-on engagement with multiple vessels.

IMDb credits a Megha Sandhu in this episode (No character name), and she posted on Instagram 6 weeks ago that she has a small part in SNW.

No idea if she's related to Gia Sandhu, can't find anything connection on google. It's possible it just isn't widely known.

My thinking is that it's to show that in trying to screw with an immovable fate, it's best to just leave things as is and let life take its course. He may end up affecting more lives and more people dying from his own interests, which may be a slap in the face to him and he may reckon a little more with his fate.

Tune next time. Same Trek time. Same Trek channel ;)
