News Star Trek Prodigy Cancelled, Season 2 to be shopped around

I pretty much skimmed through the Paramount+ special and they are treating it like Prodigy never existed. To celebrate 50 years of Animation and then do that to an animated Family Trek show has already ruined the day. The only way this day is saved is if I wake up to an announcement that Prodigy is back. Anything other than that and this is the worst Star Trek Day they have ever done.

It's pretty pathetic. Maybe that would have flown pre-internet, but when you are using a streaming platform you have to seek out? Almost no one who would subscribe to Paramount+ would be unaware of the recent animated series.

Just own your fuck-ups.

Pretty rotten, but I'd hardly expect them to do otherwise.

Apparently, talks are ongoing (elsewhere, have heard rumours about it being Amazon): https://twitter.com/TrekMovie/status/1700229520635343221

However, having a Star Trek animation special and ignoring Prodigy is so tone deaf...
Aimed exactly at the part of fans that is actually quite likely to know about and like Prodigy and pretend it never existed...

Anything they do right now with it not on Paramount Plus will come across as "Buy our DVDs and our service." It looks bad no matter what; this is the least bad way to go.

Amen.

Why do I get the feeling that this whole business with season 2 of Prodigy is just a way for Paramount to avoid backlash and that they hope everyone will in time give up, forget about it and move on.
