Also, the stardate given in this episode sets the ending in early 2384. Very cool that time is advancing.
EDIT: Oops, just saw someone else already pointed this out!
And how it meowed beforeThe Caitian kid was a scene stealer, and when they finally spoke, my heart melted. “Yeah, we now have a voice. Good for us, bad for you.”
Since Gwyn doesn't remember that, they all don't even know...And the catch preventing them from going to the Federation is a very interesting one. It makes the central arc of the show seem to be…figuring out how to get around it, maybe?

The Trill ensign looks to me like Robin Lefler/young Ashley Judd.
She has a resemblance for sure. And as a big fan of The Good Place, it’s pretty cool to have Jameela Jamil a part of Trek voicing her.
Not that far off from peak Berman era Trek. In 2374, we had three different “standard duty” Starfleet uniforms being used in different parts of the galaxy simultaneously. Characters even changed uniforms back to the TNG style when getting on and off DS9 in “Emissary” and “Homefront.”I don't like them adding yet another uniform/badge variant in the 2380s, but the Dauntless uniforms are close enough to the Lower Decks uniforms for me to suspend disbelief.
