"In the season three finale, The Cerritos crew must prove their worth in a mission race." - TrekMovie.com
Can't believe the season is already coming to an end. While I have enjoyed the episodes this season, it just doesn't feel like a lot was accomplished.
I mean, this never was a heavily serialized or high stakes show to begin with. They seemed to have seriously wanted to dial down the serialized plot and stakes.

Mike McMahan made it clear in interviews that was never meant to have much attention devoted to it, the idea being that was someone else's major story arc which the Cerritos kept bumbling into. There were, however, a seeming plot going on with the Pakleds and their master.

That's literally the show's premise.I'm not really a fan of the, "They don't know what's going on and aren't important."

I believe the term is "need to know. "Yes. I like the characters, the idea of lower level personnel, the humor, and the references but I thought it was stupid in TNG: Lower Decks. The idea of Starfleet keeping their own crews in the dark is really dumb.
...I feel like this episode makes a more compelling case for Starfleet going batshit about AI/synthetic life than PIC S1 did. Yee-ikes.
