In the script... it did.

An early ST IV script. Kirk says he understands Saavik's decision to stay on Vulcan "... in your condition".

And that was all it said.

Didn't Bennett say Nimoy shot the scene even though he didn't want to, then cut it? I keep remembering the words, "he was very uncomfortable, fought against it" ... would that be from the STAR TREK INTERVIEWS book, or maybe one of those pioneer press unauthorized numbers?
