I would like my firt action as a member of this forum site to be dedicating a topic to Soval and how great he is !!

Soval thread! Been too long. :D Alrighty then, let's get the appreciation (or whatever cooleddie's going to do) rolling with some pictures!

Soval is a great character. I really liked how we learn later that Soval and Admiral Forrest were good friends.

And his interaction with Combs' Andorian (what was the character's name again?) was AWESOME! They should have had their own show about the formation of the Federation: Journey to Babel.

When JJ Abrams assigns Zach Quinto to watch certain Star Trek episodes to better understand what a Vulcan acts like, I certainly hope Soval is part of the curriculum. ;)

What's that, little birdie? Someone started a Soval thread without me?

And of course, you'll need the wallpaper (if you haven't already snagged it from the actor's website):

Get it here

There now you have been fully inducted into the I Heart Soval Association.

There is only one rule: He's mine.

Thank you and have a pleasant stay.

:p

I was starting to think that i was the only person who loved Soval! My favorite episodes with him in it are the three episodes set around the syranites, it's so great to see him act rebelious towards the high command ( corrupt or not! )

No you are not the only one, Alyssa. There is also an archive of Soval fanfiction that you may enjoy:

Soval's Annex

If you had been around back in ENT's heyday, you would have seen the great war over Soval between myself and persianmouse. Somehow teletubbies and Hello Kitty got involved too. (I'll leave out cooleddie's involvement since it will most likely cause you to google some stuff and you'll regret that for the rest of your life! I know I do.)

But alas, we've gone our separate ways, the mouse and I. I only appeared because a little birdie **coughhopefulromanticcough** told me there was a new Sovalite and I had to see for myself. ;)

Soval is HOT! In fact, he's been called the HOVILF.

And yes, he's at his best in the episodes you mention. But one can't help but enjoy the goatee'd pointy old vulcan in the MU episodes.

Carry on with the Ambassador lovin'!

Wow i do think that he is the hottest thing to happen to star trek since spock but everyone i know thinks that i am gross for liking him cos he is a little older but who cares! and thank you for mentioning that i completely forgot about the MU episodes, he was dreamy in that too!!! I LOVE HIM
( i swear i'm not obsessed just overly enthusiastic! )

SOVAL:"WHO looks like an elf with an overactive thyroid, Admiral?

Bitch. I hope a bomb blows you up in an embassy one day."

"I haven't been with another woman since...well...since my late wife perished in that unfortunate sehlat artificial insemination accident."

"That had BETTER be a hyperspanner or some other tool, Commander."

"YES, Ambassador. Yes, we Andorians do get blue balls...if you must know."

"When I return, Captain, you must tell me more about this fascinating practice some of your men and women have during intimacy.

What did you call it?

'Dirty Sanchez'?"

Wheeeeeeee! star has returned! Wouldn't be a Soval worship thread without her.

Excuse me? *shouldering star unceremoniously aside* I don't think so, hon. Stop hogging him, already. Better yet, find some other Vulcan to drool over.

"Mine," indeed. Pfffft on that.

ACK! Head for the hills! It's the return of the infamous Dirty Sanchez!

...And Alyssa, you have very good taste in Vulcans.

why thank you! oh and not to seem possesive but . . . HE IS MINE MINE MINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!LOL

I wonder if you liked Alien Nation as well Alyssa. He was great as Detective Sikes (not sure if it's a y or an i). Alien Nation was one of my favorite Sci-fi shows when I was a teen, after Star Trek of course.

I have never seen it but i have wanted to ever since i found out he was in it! So it really is good?

Hey, we've got another live one! Better sharpen your lirpa, hon, because we Soval-worshippers fight to win. :vulcan:

Alien Nation, the TV series, is wonderful--way ahead of its time. Gary Graham's costar was Eric Pierpoint, who played Sector 31's Harris on Enterprise. (Too bad Soval and Harris never had any scenes together. :p That woulda been rich.)

Here is a sample of Gary as Matt Sikes:

The series (all one season of it) is out on DVD now. There are also 5 TVM's that were made several years after Fox canned the series in mid-cliffhanger, because the fans wouldn't let the show die such a miserable death. :D

I always hated the way Fox canned ALIEN NATION. But considering how poorly most broadcast network sci-fi performed at the time, I guess it's a near-miracle it ran as long as it did and got the number of TV movies to follow in its wake.
