SNW’s P+ image: Pike makes a mudra!

Never noticed this before: On Paramount+’s thumbnail image for Strange New Worlds, Pike looks very much like he’s making a mudra with his hands. From random googling, he appears to be making what’s called a Vishuddha mudra. I know nothing about mudras or their specifics in yoga or in Hinduism or Buddhism, but it sure looks intentional. Does anyone more familiar with these subjects know if it fits? (I have no idea if they specifically staged him in that position, or if it’s just a choice Anson Mount made when the photo was taken.)

I realize this is a late response, but life has been tough for me lately so I don't come here often. Do you have the image on hand? I could take a gander...

I guess you mean this promo image? No, I think this is just your standard “thinking man” hand gesture supposed to signal his cunning and strategic thinking, nothing much deeper than that. I’d be very surprised to learn this was purposely included as a religious signal. In fact I’m reasonably sure they are making a conscious effort with these sort of promotional images to not include anything that could be read as political, religious or anything like that.
