Should the remastered versions of TOS and TNG episodes be considered separate stories?

I'm planning to create a list of almost every Star Trek story in existence, which I will eventually expand to include other fictional universes connected to Star Trek by crossovers. The list will be available to everyone on a Google Sheets spreadsheet.

I've already decided that versions of a story with additional dialogue, removed dialogue, changed dialogue or translated dialogue will count as separate stories from the original. That means every dub of every Star Trek episode be listed separately because I want my list to be accessible to people who can speak other languages.

But I've run into a problem. What do I do with remastered versions of TOS and TNG where the only difference is special effects?

TOS Remastered does have some major changes:

Operation: Annihilate! removes footage of Kirk sitting down to insert a new CGI scene of satellites being launched.

Amok Time removes footage of Kirk, Spock and McCoy walking to insert a new CGI scene of the planet Vulcan.

Tomorrow is Yesterday adds the Sun which was not there originally.

Bread and Circuses adds two moons for the planet 892-IV which were not there originally.

I, Mudd adds planetary rings to the planet Mudd which were not there originally and changes the look of Norman's circuitry.

The Gamesters of Triskelion adds planetary rings to the planet Gamma II which were not there originally.

Charlie X adds the starship Antares which was not there originally.

Court Martial adds a second Constitution class starship and a shuttle which were not there originally.

The Deadly Years adds two more Romulan birds-of-prey which were not there originally.

The Trouble with Tribbles adds a D7 class starship which was not there originally.

The Menagerie, Part I adds Starfleet officers in the background which were not there originally.

The Way to Eden changes the design of the starship Aurora.

The Ultimate Computer changes the design of the starship Woden.

Spock's Brain changes the design of the Eymorg starship.

The Enterprise Incident changes a D7 class starship into a Romulan bird-of-prey.

TNG Remastered, on the other hand, takes great plains to make the new CGI look just like the original. All the space camera angles are exactly the same with the exception of a single shot in the episode Darmok, which is probably the only major change in the entire series. The planets were updated, but in most cases, you'll have to stare at a side-by-side comparison to notice the difference.

Some of the computer displays have changes to the text or new text added:

The Naked Now changes an image of the 2270s refit Enterprise to the the original 2260s Enterprise.

The Royale removes the names of the Apollo 17 astronauts from the Charybdis mission patch.

The Outragerous Okona replaces the names of some of the comedians on the holodeck computer display.

Samaritan Snare changes the shuttle Sakharov to the shuttle Einstein.

The Hunted changes Roga Danar's personnel file from a string of random numbers to an actual history of his military service containing lots of new information.

A Matter of Perspective changes strings of random numbers into readable text on the lambda field generator display.

Galaxy's Child adds "Interactive archive of iterative design process and dynamic testing of the warp core, focusing on harmonic simulations of field coils" to a computer display.

Violations changes a Deck 3 turbolift door to a Deck 8 turbolift door.

Conundrum adds "Court-martialed for role in Garon II disaster while assigned to the U.S.S. Wellington" to Ro's personnel file.

Cause and Effect adds Mogadishu, Somalia as Geordi's place of birth.

Inheritance changes Mavala IV to Malaya IV.

Eye of the Beholder changes the J. Bruce Scholarship into the D. Garza Scholarship in Daniel Kwan's personnel file.

Some of the matte paintings were also changed slightly, like Starbase 515 in Samaritan Snare was changed to look less like Angel One.

TMP: Director's Edition 2001 version vs 2022 version is somewhere in between TOS and TNG in terms of how big the changes are. The biggest change is that in one scene, the entire background window has been changed and the nacelle is moved lower, effectively changing the setting to a different part of the ship. This can be seen here at 2:56.

I've also heard that there are additional lines of dialogue in the 2022 version, but I haven't been able to confirm this. The lines of dialogue are:

"Engineering. Show me your readings on photon capacitors."
"All WD stations. Maintain current status."
“Impact in 30 seconds.”
"Who the hell is V'Ger sending the signal to?"

Should the remastered versions of TOS, TNG and TMP: DE be considered separate stories or the same story as the original in my list?

Would it make sense to have different rules for TOS-R and TNG-R or would that just confuse people?

No! Because they are not different stories.

Bad choice because A) those aren't different stories either and B) no one will use your list if it includes 1000+ episodes of TOS alone.

My plan was to have the English language stories in blue and stories in other languages in grey, so they will be easy to skip.

Honestly, this sounds as silly as Memory Alpha's policy as counting the times we see a holographic version of a character as a completely separate character. IE, MA claims LeVar Burton has played Geordi La Forge and eight different holograms based on Geordi.

It sounds like a mammoth task. I’d get on it first and worry about the “could I also do” bit after.

Maybe that’s what’s going on with Memory Alpha. They have successfully completed their initial mission but had fun and are mining the universe for additional possibilities.

I'll put this in spoilercode just in case.

Captain Mike, the owner, pretty much treats MBeta as his own personal fiefdom. Any edit that he doesn't personally approve of, he will undo. And if he doesn't like you, he will ban you, for whatever reasons he pleases (he's even banned me - he claimed I was intentionally spreading spoilers, which I was not in fact doing).

So compared to that, Alpha is a walk in the park.
