While posting in this forum for a little bit, I have seen a few too many posts say "Shades Of Gray" is not only not the worst episode, but is actually good. This boggles my mind that anyone could think of this as anything other than total trash. I love TNG, but my god is this episode horrible.

Thoughts on "Shades Of Gray"?

Forgive the misspelling in the title and poll.

Yes we all know that. I'm asking how would you are it? Other seasons had great "bottle" and cheap shows. This episode certainly was not that.

Wow, Shades of Grey is the worst TNG episode ever? Really? I disagree, that's like saying the Civil War was the worst thing to happen to America or Bush was the worst president ever, and we all know those are both false.:guffaw:

Seriously, I thought SoG was already declared the worst one ever, universally. :p

"Shades of Gray" is very mediocre. It is not, however, the worst episode of TNG.
Being that I like Riker as a character, I can put up with it's mediocrity. There are worse episodes.

For me, Shades of Gray is nowhere near the worst episode of TNG ever. More like
2zom0s2.gif
Code of Honor.

I wasn't recording the whole series during season 1 - so I was quite pleased to see clips from Conspiracy again. In fact IIRC in the UK some bits cut from Conspiracy weren't cut from Shades Of Grey!

I don't think this is the worst episode ever of TNG. There are others I dislike more - Code of Honor.

There are ones far worse, but it doesn't win any awards. It could have been good, cause you don't see all too often how certain events have an impact on someone's life, sadly they missed actually doing something with it, and Pulaski was absolutely cringeworthy in this whole episode.

Not the worst. The new Riker bits aren't half bad, to be honest.

There are at least a half dozen worse episodes.

I may have to change my vote to Sub Rosa...that episode is just so out there that I keep forgetting it's still Star Trek.

Not even close - off the top of my head, Code of Honor, Up The Long Ladder and Sub Rosa are all far worse.

No way it can be the worst episode. It's just a pointless clip show. The clip show has been a staple of TV for decades. Most TV shows do them sooner or later TNG just did there's sooner.

Worst episode of TNG is The Neutral Zone.

That is true. Bush is only the fourth worst president in American history after LBJ, Wilson and FDR.

The Civil War is the worst thing to happen to America though.

I'm with others in saying "Code of Honor" gets the worst ever award.

In fact, I really enjoy a lot of the Riker moments in "Shades of Grey". LOVE his "grandfather Riker once got bit by a snake" joke. It had a few worthy character moments for a clip show!

Up the long ladder is horrible. Only saved by Riker boning that Irish chick.

The worst one for me has to be "Angel One" AKA the planet of the butch macho females. "The outcast" AKA the planet of forced lesbianism has to come in for a very close second.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of "Angel One" either. It would rate much further down the scale than "Shades of Gray".
