round or oval shape

With style of saucer section do you like the best on a starship, the round one like the enterprise -D or the oval\diamond shape like the ENT-E or the Intrepid class starship?.

The Enterprise D has an oval shaped saucer as well. It's the original Ent (and A) that has a circular saucer.

The sideways orientation on the D's oval, is more pleasing than the fore/aft orientation of the E's.

Circular.

And yeah, since I was a kid playing with my AMT model, I've always thought it was way cool that the saucer of the TOS Enterprise was a saucer - as in like a flying saucer - but with the cool secondary hull and engines attached.

Oval. I like future Starfleet ships evolving away from using the perfectly round saucers of the 23rd-Century.

Generally prefer round though having it evolve to use different shapes open up design possibilities. Or something like that.

As a Star Fleet Battles player/fan I suppose I should say I prefer circular, however, I like any shape as long as it's in keeping with the overall design of the ship.

Um, ovals are round. I prefer the true circles.

The original E with circle primary hull and cylindrical nacelles combines feminine with masculine forms perfectly.

The disk has to be a circle. The ovals stretch the ship out toooo much and it looks distorted.

The oval oriented like on Enterprise E. That shape lets the ship seem like it's moving, and an elegance not found in in a circle.

I would like to see an edited version of the D with a rounded saucer just to confirm it, but I like the round design.
