just started watching Season 1 and to rewatch Season 2 since I really forgot what went on in Season 2.

So why did Pike grow a beard and live in Montana to care for a horse and watch old black and white sci Fi movies? him being in "exile" or whatever something to do with those future visions he had from visiting that Klingon monk place from Star Trek Discovery?
