That still wouldn't stop the aardvark either way. Self-awareness is only one small piece to the 16,500 piece puzzle anyway. The puzzle like the one you think is a great deal on clearance but there's a missing piece or two and nobody's got the time, talent, and/or skill to machine-cut precisely a replacement piece (or to draw in the missing picture bits onto it). Never mind the puzzle itself is not just a metaphor but is also a representation of a Jackson Pollock painting.

So the best anyone can really do is guess.
I also tried asking the ants that invade the parking lot every year why they do that. All they did was to get antsy and just wiggle their mandibles in the same simplistic pattern. Which, at best, probably meant to say to say "Hey Fred, look out there's a gigantic and funny looking aardvark in front of me with some chocolate to cover us with, whatever chocolate is, and probably not in a good way."
