I think it’s a good move in so far as it frees up 10 million and unloads an expensive player who never recovered from injury and had a falling out with Ainge.

It doesn’t get us much closer to contention but it brings in the defensive leadership missing this season and allows Tatum and Brown to spend less time at PF and more in their natural positions.

I knew Utah would go ass up if you applied some pressure. Gobert is a total fraud as DPOY. But, much as I hate Ballmer, gotta give the Clips credit for not falling apart at the first sign of adversity the way they usually do. First time out of the 2nd round. Clips and their fans don’t know whether to shit it go blind, and they haven’t even gotten to the Finals.

Still though, Clips are the one team in the playoffs that has a serious psychological edge. I’v seen teams endure much less humiliation than the Clips did last season and use that to motivate them to win a ring the following year. So, Clips have the psychological edge they need to finally get a ring. If they don’t, I’m slandering the hell out of them.

NBA Champion will be one of the Hawks, Bucks, Clippers, and Suns. Pretty wild. Two titles between them - and the last was in 1971.

Congrats to the Atl Hawks.. I have a soft spot for these guys partially because of the heat they took for trading Luka Doncic on draft night a few years ago. Despite NBA media’s attempt to crown Luka as the greatest ever, and vilifying the Hawks for their “mistake,” Luka’s team is at home while Trae and his team play for the Finals.

So, I hope that everyone who has been repeating the mantra that for some reason the players choosing where they want to play thereby forming so called super teams, were watching the Nets - Bucks series. It was made crystal clear that super teams are not invincible. There is no reason whatsoever to pass any new rules that curtail free agent movement.

I’m not a fan of CP3 but I’m even less of a fan of Clipper fans and Steve Ballmer, so I’ll be rooting for the ns. DBook is cool though. Tyronn Lue has been practically begging for support from Laker fans, but that’s not going to happen. Ballmer killed any chance of that when he came to LA and acted like difference between the Clippers and Lakers was simply a marketing issue.

Congrats to the Suns on advancing to the Finals for the first time in 28 years. They were a more well rounded team (meaning they actually play team D, than Utah, but mostly, Suns were healthy.
Although going 6 games against a Clips team missing it’s best player probably says more about the Suns inexperience than the Clips play, still have to commend Clips for making it out of the 2nd round. But as a Lakers fan, I loved seeing Ballmer crying.

Read some interesting quotes from DBook today. He was talking about CP3’s legacy being set now no matter what happens. If this was a quote from a Lakers player going into the Finals, it would scare the crap out of me. It smacks of being happy to just be there. Fortunately for the Suns, they’re going in against the Hawks or Bucks who also might be happy just to be there. But, generally speaking, this is NOT the attitude to take into the Finals.

I get that CP3 is one of the more disliked players in the league, but Pat Bev’s shove from behind was a bitch move. It’s just one of the reasons he is even more disliked than CP3.

Congrats to th 2021 NBA champion Milwaukee Bucks. Really happy for Giannis, who was beginning to look like he was might join Nash in the Multiple MVP But No Finals or Rings Club. Topped it off with FMVP. What a great performance, 50 points, 12 rebounds in a In his first Finals closeout game. Only Magic Johnson had a better Finals game 6.

As for the Suns, pretty obvious they were very fortunate to be in the Finals. The Bucks were the only healthy team Suns faced in the playoffs and they lost 4 in a row. Suns need someone who can guard athletic bigs. Ayton ain’t that guy.

When you win a championship, that is indeed the time to talk shit, so, not gonna take Giannis to task for his statement about super teams. I’ll leave it at, when did the ‘20 Lakers become a super team?

Though the Nets’ 3 superstars all appear to be head cases, they’re still likely to be pretty motivated next season, and if they’re healthy, could be a short reign for the current champs. Suns likely saw their only Finals for another 40 years or so.

But regardless, Bucks are a worthy champ. Congrats to them and they’re fans.

Welll, with acquisition of Russell Westbrook to run with LeBron and AD, the Lakers really are now a super team.

I’v been against trading for Russ for a long time because of the usual cliches, too ball dominant, no 3 point shot, huge salary, playoff chokes, but a few thongs are irrefutably true, he is an elite point guard, is a huge upgrade from Dennis Schooder, and is a proven playmaker. Plus, I understand that Russ, Ad, and Bron, got together two weeks ago to talk about things like submerging ego in order to win a championship. Brodie has never been with a group like this.. He’ll be playing with a couple experienced, playoff hardened superstars, who know how to win. He’s never had that before. Need to now fill out our roster and get it.

I love tht my team has never shied away from making bold moves in order to win. in fact, it is an organizational feature that sometimes fails, but often succeeds spectacularly. Obviously, hoping for the latter.
