Movies you watch more than once, or when you need a pick me up

When World's Collide
The 27th Day
War of the World's (50s)
This island Earth
The Great Escape
Where Eagles Dare
The Martian
Collousus The Forbin Project

Lowbrow comedies are usually good for a laugh...
Spaceballs
Silent Movie
Blazing Saddles
Spy Hard
Wrongfully Accused
Kung Pow: Enter the Fist

Gravity is the film I go back to most, but also through the Tiangong scene on Youtube or just listening to the soundtrack. Collateral and Out of Sight are probably second. T2 and Empire and TWOK are pretty close behind those.

Hot Shots.

For me, it's a lot of different family movies that are just fun, like Carpool, 3 Ninjas, Surf Ninjas, Mighty Ducks, as well as Star Trek 2009, Star Wars (the original. No bloody 4, 5 or 6!), as well as Blazing Saddles.

Then there's screwball comedies which were rather ubiquitous especially in the 80s

Porky's - and its sequels that did not need to exist
My Tutor
Private School
Fast Times At Ridgemont High - But really not sure if this would belong here

Far too many other titles of a similar vein

You get the idea they played fast and loose with themes and would have broken the rules with the ratings system we have today.
