Latest acquisition!

Last week, I bought the two alternate covers of the new Sisko-led "Star Trek" #1 from IDW (because there is an Andorian on them); and "Masters of Make-up Effects: A Century of Practical Magic" by Howard Berger & Marshall Julius (contains some early TOS material and aliens from the three Kelvinerse movies).

More new stuff: The conclusion to IDW's "Picard: Stargazer" comic mini-series (#3); an advertising pin that was distributed to celebrate the first Director's Edition DVD of "Star Trek - The Motion Picture" (2001); and my 8" custom Gene Roddenberry recently made from a John Walton Sr. Mego from "The Waltons".

I got Star Trek Explorer magazine issue 5 in the mail. I can't believe they finally sent it to me .The 2 new new short stories are a Ds9 story with Miles O'Brien and Bashir at Vic Fontaine's Lounge. and a Guinan story that's very mysterirous.I liked the honor they did in the magazine for Nichelle Nichols it was well done.

The second hardcover collection of "Star Trek" short stories collection has arrived: "Q and False" and Other Stories, reprinted from "Star Trek Explorer" magazine (Titan Books, 2022).

Above: Signed copies of "Boldly Go: Reflections of a Life of Awe and Wonder" (Atria Books, 2022) by William Shatner with Joshua Brandon. I actually won the Shatner copy because I had preordered the Joshua Brandon one.

Below: I also found a great book, "Science Fiction: Voyage to the Edge of Imagination" (Thames & Hudson, 2022) edited by Glyn Morgan. Lots of references to the "Star Trek" TV shows and movies.

Purely out of curiosity, why did you go Blu-ray for Picard but DVD for Disco?

I buy one of each for each title, mainly because all my previous sets in DVD were later upgraded to Blu-Ray, so I guess I am keeping both sets complete. I had to go to three stores the next day (after the pic) to get DSC on Blu-Ray.

A huge week for new Trek item acquisitions Down Under. Some of the 2021 books have only just become available to Aussies again. We were expected to only use Amazon Australia for a while (Covid distribution problems, mainly) and not everything is there.

"Chris Pine Color-by-Number"; vintage metal lunchbox from "Star Trek: The Motion Picture"; "What Would JC Do?: A Celebration of the Roles of Jeffrey Combs" (Ambystoma Pictii, 2022) by Neil Rhind; IDW omnibus for "Star Trek: Discovery: Adventures in the 32nd Century"; Issue #2 of IDW's comic mini-series, "Star Trek: Resurgence"; and "The Star Trek Cookbook" hardcover by Chelsea Monroe-Cassel (Gallery, 2022).

I already had the plastic flask for the metal lunchbox. They turned up in Australian supermarkets in about 1981! But I only recently realised there were TMP aliens on the side of the lunchbox!
