I was in the middle of a dream where I was on stage about to launch into a karaoke solo when the phone rang early this morning.
Anyway.. to actually be tangentially on topic I have been watching Weeds because of the Orange connection. Had seen only one ep before. Now in Season 5 and am honestly only watching it for Celia at this point as the rest of it is alternately boring me and enraging me. I hope that the second season of Orange doesn't do that whole spinning out of control in our ever increasingly hard to get out of plot enormities.. like I know we can figure out how Piper won't end up shipped off and imprisoned for years after beating the crap out of Pennsatucky. Corruption, that fixes that plot hole. I just hope it doesn't end up with more and more "this would NEVER happen" moments or even worse ZANINESS. Please Orange, do not descend into zaniness.
On the up side Orange is definitely a huge cut above Weeds writing/observations wise.

I don't think it's actually a real joke but I found this on reddit..

Not that I get it but.. There are several versions floating around.
And I just realised that it doesn't match what she's saying, never mind.
In Oitnb, red says:

Later when she goes back to the "ladies"...

Yep, it's horrible. Especially the youtube/google thing.. I mean come on, let us have some privacy. One of the reasons I'm not that in to social medias anymore.

Re: Oversharing. It drives me crazy every time I buy something from Amazon and they ask me if I want to tell my friends what I just bought.

It drives me crazy, this "journalism by repeating someone else's musings ad infinitum until people think its a fact and not just some one's idiotic musing.I have no knowledge of Prepon's personal beliefs, or of her connection with the C-o-Sc, however, after the first month of OitNB's release, Prepon was EVERYWHERE promoting the show and speaking opening of the sexual orientation of the 2 main players in this drama/comedy. She's joked how lesbians BEFORE OitNB would hit on her in bars, and her curiosity at how often it would now occur after the show was released. (The famous.. "I'm catnip to Lesbians" quote.)
She's been frank that she has Gays and Lesbians among her friends, and hangs at one of the largest gay bars in LA since one of her friends runs it. When the Supreme Court was set to rule on the Defense of Marriage Act...she told one interviewer that it was "about time" for the laws of the US to change so that marriage could be offered to Gays and lesbians too.
Does that sound like a woman who would let the Scientology leadership dictate to her, what TV series she should work on?
Heck its not like she's being primed to be the next Mrs. Tom Cruise... that perk is supposedly being offered to one of her "friends". (Lets hope its not one of the Lesbians, or Tom and the Church will both be in for a rude awakening.)
Since I don't get the sense from Laura that she would cave into such pressure, I think its not just irresponsible for the Afterellen blogger to make such a speculative accusation, I think its downright mean.

Alex IS a criminal. She is not only a Bad Ass... she's a "bad guy" and one of the things that's "catnip" to many women is the need to "save/rescue" the bad guy from themselves.

Somehow, despite her criminal behavior, despite her "turning Piper into the law... I SUSPECT Alex has an underlying vein of honor, one that needs nurturing despite Alex's best attempts to hide from it.
When Larry was pissed off at Piper, he went on a national radio show and spoke of all the things she told him in confidence, thereby making her a target for potentially unstable people in the prison with her. I'm AMAZED he didn't tell the story about Pornstache groping her or leering at her while she changed clothes. (Maybe he can self censor when he wants to do so.)

A comment that placed her SELF in danger from the unstable elements behind bars and got her stuck in the dryer, broke her glasses, lost her the poor excuse for a mattress and who knows what else had Piper not distracted Tiffany from her pursuit of Alex revenge by getting Tiffany thrown into the Psyche ward.

)Teacake's comments about WEEDS has really put me off trying to watch that series. Many others have suggested (in various blogs/forums) that WEEDS lost focus after the first season and were fearful at what that portended for this show.
The actresses are all very gungho about season 2 so far, so lets cross our fingers... then again my fingers are already tired from being crossed these last 6 weeks over the "Alex" thing.
I'm pooped out.
Drove 7 hours yesterday and already sat through nearly five hours of class this morning with another 5 scheduled for tonight which MEANS I'll have to wait for OUaT's season 3 premiere until tomorrow night.

Next season, I’d love to bring in new characters, just so we can tell these stories that we want to tell, if it’s not through someone already there. It’s a great control, for the production. It’s like, “If you don’t behave, you could get out of prison.” Everyone has to be nice.

Yes JRulez you are correct. This show should and IS GOING TO BE all about Red and a sizable portion of the more boring or pukey in a bad way characters (ie, not pennsatucky) will be GONE by the end of season 2. All those extraneous boring people, starting with Piper and Larry and Alex and moving onto that "romance" relationship between the guard and inmate. And Red will end up in more and more scenes until people won't even remember that this was a story about Piper (who?)..
And in Season 3 the name of the show will be changed to Red is the New Black.

In defense of "not enough crying".. Piper snd her friend, the crying lady did enough of that on the phone, and we saw it hsappen with Nicky/Tricia before the OD and Nicky/Red after the OD.
Also... no-one can forget what Maria looked like when she returned from the hospital without her baby, so they really shouldn't say the estrangement from children haven't been addressed.
