So Pixar just dropped a brief teaser for the second movie, which should be out in summer. There's also a movie poster floating around that hints at some other new emotions, though Anxiety is the only one shown in the teaser.

Very few kids movies affected me the way Inside Out 1 did. I look forward to seeing what they do with 2, especially given that they did not make it in haste.

Inside Out was an odd movie. My wife and sister-in-law took my kids and all their cousins to see it. It was the only Pixar movie where I've seen kids bored. On the other hand, many of the adults were visibly moved by it.

As much as I love the original (arguably my favorite Pixar, high bar!), I was hesitant to a sequel.

But I've got a good feeling about this...

(Pun very much intended)

Maybe they should have marketed it to the grownups, then.

Exactly what I thought. My post was not a complaint about the movie--because I loved it--just an observation on my experience. Kids who loved Up and Toy Story, didn't really get into Inside Out.

I saw the trailer a couple days ago, and it looks like fun. I might have to rewatch the first one before this comes out, I really don't remember it very well.

At this point, I've got many good feelings about this film. The perfectly cast Maya Hawke as Anxiety alone makes me excited for it!

And as disappointing as it is that Bill Hader didn't return as Fear, Tony Hale is an excellent choice to replace him.

I often enjoy watching reactions on the Movie Couple channel, as they also do reactions for a lot of current TV as well. :D

Looks like a lot of fun. Most of Pixar's recent stuff has been good, except Elemental, which my mom and I both gave up on after about 20 minutes, so I'm optimistic.

Loved the first one and by the looks of the trailer may love the second one too. Looking forward seeing it.

I guess Elemental just felt like the same old story we've seen a million times, and I didn't really find the world building or characters interesting enough to make up for it.

So, are the new emotions only puberty related? That is why we didn't see them in the adults in the first movie?

Perhaps but I don't like that implication, especially as someone who struggles with anxiety as a 41-year old man.

The obvious answer is they didn't think there would be a sequel that would expand on the personifying of emotions and stayed focused on the core five. I hope they have some clever or neat explanation for this obvious aberration but they'll probably just ignore it. I rather have them ignore it than say they only exist because of puberty.

Saw it with my wife and we both loved it.
The very basic story is kind of similar to the first movie, but it mixes things up enough for it no to be very noticeable.
While Joy is still the "protagonist", the other (original) emotions get more to do here. which I like.
Ennui is the new emotion that I liked most, in the very few she had.

I don't think young kids will enjoy it much. It is more suitable for teens and adults in my opinion.
