Grand Theft Auto IV

Will you buy Grand Theft Auto IV?

I just got a 360 from my wife as an early birthday present as well as a reservation for the game, so I know what I'm doing on Tuesday :)

This doesn't apply to me but I thought I would mention this.

It looks like Australian and the New Zealand versions of the game are censored. Lame I know. Players will have to look around the net to see if it's worth the hassle of importing to get an uncensored version or not.

I've had a pre-order for the PS3 version for over a year, maybe two I can't remember when I ordered. I've got exam leave starting end of the coming week so I'll off home for a couple of weeks to 'study' which really means play GTA IV. These exams don't count towards my degree, so no need to get the 1A's I'm predicted

I hadn't really been planning on it, but since I'll probably end up getting it eventually, I should probably grab a copy before they're recalled and censored *cough*SanAndreas*cough*.

I'll get the 360 version.

Have they started putting in Dualshock 3s into PS3 bundles yet? Might be worth it to hold off until they do.

What advantages does the Dualshock 3 have over the "standard" controller? And is it worth it or is mostly, "Feh. This thing shakes a little at certain times."

Dualshock 3 is pretty much just a controller with rumble. If you can't live without rumble then wait if you want to save money. The controller iteself costs $55 seperately.

The MGS4 bundle is supposed to have that controller for sure.

I can live without rumble.

The rumble tech also makes the controller heaver. The SIXAXIS is basically a hollow shell.
I guess it depends... I hate the PS3 controller design anyway, but I prefer the extra weight.

But then again, it doesn't hurt that last week the Dualshock 3 was 20 bucks for Canadians. It's the only reason why I'd spend money on an extra controller...

Yeah, I don't like the PS2/3 controler any either.

All the previous GTA releases have been censored here, yet somehow it's a shocking and newsworthy event each time.

I won't be buying it myself. I've played GTA3/Vice City, got bored of each after an hour of slaughtering pedestrians and have no interest in engaging with the storyline or whatever else people do to keep themselves amused in the game. I like the radio though, I'll have to get the audio files somehow.

Here's a question nobody's asked:

Will owners of the Australian version still be able to play online with owners of the Euro and NTSC versions, given that the Aussie game has had some stuff removed?

Gonna grab the 360 version... need to finish as much of it as possible as soon as possible.

Is that just not the way with owning a 360....i cant tell you how many games i have and i have not completed because the next game game along....

Anyway i just did the same thing and pulled out Saint row in a effort to finish it as well as get into the whole free roaming city type mood.
