Can't wait to preorder them. The idea is great. The covers are gorgeous. The ship is gorgeous. For the ship enthusiasts among us it's great to return to the Eaglemoss version tonight - this morning, it was a ship of the week, now it's the hero of its own (mini-)series.

This, definitely this. Star Trek has had such a worldwide impact, I've always wanted non-English speakers to be a part of writing for the franchise.
That CBS and Pocket are partnering with Cross Cult do this is a great testament to how faithfully CC has handled the franchise for the German audience.

Would be nice if there were English print editions, but I'll happily read the ebooks! Glad to hear that the authors are working hard to make it fit in with other recent and upcoming books. Hoping that if this is successful, it'll lead to an ongoing German language series that ties in with the Pocket continuity.

At the moment it is "just" an anniversary trilogy. Okay, let me rephrase this: It is A GERMAN STAR TREK TRILOGY!
Trust me, that's a pretty big thing for all of us at Cross Cult! Every single volume of it. We all love Star Trek and we really hope to make a contribution to the LitTrek universe, that is appreciated by the readers.But to answer your question: If the readers really like the books and make it a success for Cross Cult, no one knows what might happen. (Well, perhaps the publisher knows, but I am just one of the two writers.
)

The in-universe timeframes are obviously several months to around a year apart, but I wonder if JJMiller's upcoming Prey trilogy could make any ties to this Prometheus trilogy.

As far as I know Cross Cult owns the rights to distribute the "Prometheus" trilogy worldwide. Editor Markus Rohde told Christian and me, there will be English e-books at least (professionally translated and proofread by native speakers of course - I translate novels from English to German, but my English is not good enough to do it the other way round).
Of cource we all hope for a printed version.

According to that announcement, Book 1 is going to have a fold-out overview of the Prometheus. Those extra touches are always fun!
This discussion reminds me of an article in one of the old Best of Trek books (volume 7, I think) where a German fan wrote a very entertaining article lamenting translation troubles when the show (only TOS in those days) would air in West Germany. Translation troubles, and voice casting issues, too, she said. Apparently the actor dubbing Spock had a high-pitched and very excitable voice. Talk about miscasting, if so!
Don't forget the Genesis Wave, the Gateways, the planet-eating Machine, Them, the Omega Continuum....
Considering how often the galaxy or even universe was nearly destroyed in the novelverse, it's kind of remarkable that it's only really happened once, IIRC (DS9's Millennium).
In any case, I'm not worried about a side-story in the novel continuity not fitting in, especially given the authors are specifically trying to set it in that version of Trek.
That's what we thought too. Just think of all the "side stories" that happen on Earth every day. There is not only a war in Syria, but a refugee crisis in Europe, tensions between Russia and the US, an emissions scandal in the industry and natural desasters in Asia. A lot of things happen at the same time. So I think it is fully credible that in the LitVerse there are tensions between the Khitomer Accords and the Typhon Pact, Data is searching for Moriarty, on DS9 some strange "Missing" appear, the Enterprise encounters an Armageddon Machine and then we have a crisis in the Lembatta Cluster, that might spread out from there, if it were not for the Prometheus.
