Favorite DS9 'Goosebump' Moment?

TheQman

Captain
I was sitting and watching the last few episodes of the series and realized that every time I watch the series ending story arc, I get goosebumps.

There are several moments. I know many would think otherwise, but I think the Dukat/Winn scenes are some of the best of the show. Also, Damar's struggle to free Cardassia is a great story (not to mention Biggs acting is great). Between the dark humor and great writing...goosebumps...

So, what are your favorite 'goosebump' moments from DS9?

Kira saying good-bye to Odo shortly before he joins the great link in the end. Odo wearing a tuxedo for her.

Damar, fighting for Cardassia, being shot. Damar is one of the best Trek characters ever.

Weyoun 6 triggering his implant, dying in Odo's arms.

There are so many scenes I like.....

Not sure about goosebumps, but moments that make me want to scream "I love this series!"

Kira seeing herself as a Cardassian (I always felt they should have ended that episode still leaving the question open as to whether Kira is a Cardassian or Bajoran).

"The Visitor." Several moments.

"What You Leave Behind" - too many to mention, but I think it begins with Miles picking up that toy soldier.

Odo admitting he's in love with Kira...except it's not really Kira he's talking to.

Kira and Odo's first kiss.

Odo turning into sparkles of light for Kira.

The scene of the cast walking past Quark's with their holosuite outfits on.

Seeing the station in HD for the first time. I think it was a rendering someone made on youtube. Then the TNG episode that featured DS9 in HD.

I'm sure we'll think of more...:)

I love hearing what others think. I completely agree with all of the scenes mentioned.

And yes, kilana, Damar is one of the best trek characters ever. He wasn't used as much as I would have liked, but that is probably why his scenes were so good. He wasn't overused. Got to meet Biggs in person too, very nice guy.

I have heard that Casey Biggs is also a good singer and guitarist. Heard some Enterprise Blues Band songs via Youtube.

I loved the Terok Nor Novels by James Swallow and S.D. Perry/Britta Dennison. Highly recommendable for DS9 history fans, as they shed light on the Occupation including Dukat's machinations.

Another gripping moment was the episode Duet, witz Marritza being killed in the end.....:cardie:

The moment in The Quickening when Bashir realizes the baby doesn't have the Blight and the mother has her last living moment be the payoff for her entire struggle to live another few weeks for her child.

The ending of "By Infernos Light". Sisko's line to Dukat "We will see about tomorrow" is a great ending to a great conversation between Sisko and Dukat, as is Avery Brook's acting as Sisko ponders what the future might hold.

For me one of the most powerful moments on DS9 was Bashir talking O'Brien out of suicide in Hard Time.

For me, it was sometimes more about a time period than an episode.

Like during the 'changeling scare' during the 4th season, before the war.

It was when anyone could be revealed to be a changeling.

When they did the promos for next week's episode it always left you with the feeling that it would happen. At one point a promo made me think Kassidy would be revealed to be a changeling, or replaced by one.

But some moments were Call to Arms, especially the ending scene where we see the Defiant meeting up with the Fed/Klingon fleet.

Another is Duet, if you pay attention to the breakdown scene at the end.

To me, they had more miles in that changeling scare than they used. But yes, it was good while it lasted! :techman:

Everyone has mentioned great moments!

Another I was thinking of is Benny's speech in "Far Beyond the Stars"..."It's REAL!"

People say a lot of things about Brooks' acting, but IMO he did wonderful with that scene.

All of the above are wonderful. I would add:

Nog describing his ambition and begging Sisko to let him join Starfleet.

Quark telling Odo to clean up his act when he sees Kira falling in love with Shakar.

When Sisko stares out the window from the station we see the reflection of Benny or Sisko as Benny.

"You are the dreamer and the dream."

That's a really great moment.

I thought you would cite the scene were Keevan was injured and underwent surgery by Bashir.... Or Keevan being shot by Gaila..... I guess Non-Dominion members fail to see those scenes as goosebump moments.

If I remember correctly, Vorta remember how they died before being re-cloned. I guess another Keevan is out there. :)

In Honour Among Thieves: O'brien back at home after the mission, with Bilby's cat jumping up on the couch to join him is one of my favourites from the show.

Sons of Mogh: After the operation when Kurn no longer has any memory of Worf.

Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges: The whole exchange between Bashir and Ross at the end of the episode.

And I can't remember the name, but pretty much the whole episode when Kira's Cardassian "father" is dying.

Another two of my favorite moments.

Ah yes! When Weyoun 4 was vaporized by the Jem'Hadar First for questioning the loyalty of his men. Let not forget about Pah-wraith possessed Keiko stare.

Jadzia Dax being killed by Dukat and her last words to Worf after Bashir told Sisko that he was able to safe Dax, but not Jadzia.

All the twists that happen during In Purgatory's Shadow:

-Tain is Garak's Father

-Martok has been held prisoner and the other Martok was a changeling

-Bashir was also replaced

Another one was actually the episode I just saw last night, The Collaborator and the reveal that Kai Opaka was a Cardassian Collaborator.
