Enterprise Vs. Reliant......

I want to know everyones thoughts on this......Enterprise refit, or Reliant! Which one to you prefer, tell us how you really feel! My vote is for My all time favorite, Enterprise Refit extravaganza.

I'd say Enterprise. Since, she beat the crap out of Reliant in TWoK.
I think I must just watch that scene right now.

I love seeing RELIANT get her nacelle shot off. Refit is the best trek ship ever (if the nacelle caps were better, the deco lines on the saucer were gone and the main strut was more elegant, it would be damned near perfect.)

Refit Enterprise. She's the best. I love the Reliant and how both ships definitely feel "part of the same family" but the Enterprise is just such a tall elegant design.

I have to say the Enterprise. The Enterprise was larger and had more capable engines for power purposes so my thoughts would be with it being the winner. The Reliant does have additional torpedo launchers though so that may give them a temporary edge.

Good point! However, the Reliant is more maneuverable, and coupled with the heavier armament, would probably run circles around the Enterprise! They both have their strong points.......but the Enterprise refit is a work of art!

How the heck do you know that the Reliant is more maneuverable? Based on what?

I'd say Reliant. She did quite a bit of damage to the refit, and for the most part the only weakness was from the fact that Kahn had a 2D train of thought. Not the 3D of space combat.

At this point I feel really bad for the Reliant, but I still had to vote for Enterprise. It's kinda like a cruel joke when they nominate the really ugly girl for homecoming queen.

The only reason Reliant busted up Enterprise initially was because the shields were down; if the shields were up I think Enterprise would have cut up Reliant quite quickly as it was the bigger more powerful ship.

How the heck do you know that the Reliant is more maneuverable? Based on what?

Try watching the DS9 episode "sacrifice of angels". The Sitak and Majestic look to be maneuvering wildly in battle. Besides, they just look more agile than the Constitution refit! Also, the Enterprise is 40 years old in TWOK, and the Miranda design seems like a more modern design, so it would stand to reason that she would be more maneuverable, as the Miranda is significantly more compact, streamlined and less bulky. Not nearly as cool looking though!

I'd hardly consider the DS9 "big battle" episodes to be an accurate measure of this, since they seem to have every ship twisting and turning and zipping around.

The Enterprise and Reliant seemed to be portrayed as pretty evenly matched, so the real question isn't Enterprise vs. Reliant, but Kirk vs. Khan — how does each commander use his ship's capabilities to his advantage?
