Donny's Refit Enterprise Interiors (Version 2.0)

Here's the final renders of the TWOK Engineering set! Lots of photos to follow. Hopefully enough to cover everything of this highly-detailed set! And hopefully enough for you to enjoy in your respective degrees of isolation ;)

You'll notice, first off, that this set differs from the TMP set in a few different ways:
-The intermix swirl is more of a blue rather than the purplish hues of the TMP swirl.
-The set was more brightly lit.
-Additional consoles lined the walls
-The Dilithium Reactor Room now appears in the port aft corner of the room
-An isolation door was added to drop down to cut off the vertical intermix chamber from the aft portion of the horizontal intermix chamber feeding the nacelles.
-A ladder was added connecting N deck to O deck
-Two racks of respirators were added near the dilithium reactor and near the ladder
-Additional signage was placed in two areas of the set
-Various console graphics changed or were re-colored
-The corridor set outside of the engine room was shortened

First starting with the views from "O Deck"

If something like an interactive version of Mr. Scott’s Guide is ever made, your absolutely gorgeous work should be utilized as the centerpiece, Donny. I can’t say enough times just how spectacular your modeling skills are.

Absolutely beautiful, all of this; but the video oh man, so perfect in every detail! And the music choice is the perfect accompanying piece for setting the mood. :)

Just curious, can one ride that one-person lift all the way down to the bottom of the vertical intermix shaft?
Yep. That’s actually the only way to get down there. There are no visible doorways on any of those levels in the film.
However, I haven’t properly programmed the lift. Not yet anyway. The player model doesn’t exactly fit inside, so I’ll have to learn how to take control away from the player, “animate” the player camera to enter the lift, ride the lift, animate the camera exiting the lift, and then returning control to the player. With all my skills, I have yet to learn how to do this ;-)

Fantastic and realistic! I wonder what happened to the extra forty feet of forward corridor...hmm.

And as a Special Quarantine bonus, the bridge of the enterprise as seen in TMP!

That's a wonderful video Donny, thank you. It's honestly pretty depressing being cooped up in a pokey little house, but seeing that iconic bridge with its window to the stars is a very welcome.

Thank you so much for these treats, @Donny! The realism of these places and all the details therein is only betrayed by those unrealisticly quick and jumpy movements you'll get in the Unreal engine. But still, this showcases all of your work beautifully. :bolian:

3 videos all at once? Maybe this lockdown thing isn't so bad after all...
The detail on these renders renders is insane and I love that you even included screws in the plexiglass! :techman:

That sounds like a health and safety nightmare! Also there are decks adjacent decks on those lower levels, would it really have been so hard to put a small airlock in those rooms, just in case of emergency? Also, what happens to those HOLES in the floor whenever an elevator isn't present?
Sometimes I think that starship designers just spend their time coming up with more and more elabourate ways to kill Starfleet flunkies. :guffaw:

It was never there in the first place - the interior decorators assigned to the refit included forced-perspective pictures of extended corridors throughout the ship in order to help avoid feelings of claustrophobia among the crew. Such attitudes to decor were considered very trendy at the time, at least to earthbound folks. Seasoned Starfleet personnel probably thought them as foolish as the "amazing" phaser redesign.
By the time Enterprise was relegated to a training ship many of these images had been taken down although at least one remained on B-Deck (seen behind Saavik when she runs onto the elevator with Kirk)
;)

I admit, computer graphics kind of mystify me. I'm amazed you're able to create all those detailed shapes and textures so quickly. I gather you're using software designed for creating game environments, but still, it's got to be a lot more work to create all these screen-accurate custom objects than to use whatever generic settings and props might be typically used in building a game.

Not to mention somehow capturing or recreating the footage from the film/video loops in the circular monitors and inserting it into the 3D environment. How the heck did you do that? It's amusing that the "23rd-century" graphics in those screens are so much cruder-looking than the 21st-century computer graphics creating the environment they inhabit.
