Can someone please help? Even Google can't help. The one thread I found mentioned an "enhancements" tab, but it doesn't exist.

Uh... I'm certainly no expert on sound settings, nor on Windows 8 (I've only been using it for about a week), but it seems to me that this would be more dependent on the software that is provided by whomever made the audio hardware providing the audio, and not Windows. And considering how similar Win8 is to 7 when it comes to things such as what you can do from the Control Panel and whatnot, I don't see why this would be different - I'm not aware of a way to directly adjust bass and treble via any Windows dialog in either Win8 or Win7. My Win7 desktop has a "bass enhancement" feature (among other enhancements), but this is part of the RealTek audio manager provided by Asus, not part of Windows per se. So you're better off looking for information that pertains to your specific computer by brand/hardware manufacturer/etc.
thanks for all your help. It's a HP Pavillion 500qe
It says it has Integrated Sound DTS audio whatever that means.
But all the tutorials say i can reduce bass by using the enhancements tab, and I don't have one.

The only model I found for that particular one is the HP Pavilion 500-210QE. There are no others listed with HP's support site, so we'll be going off of that information. There are only two OS options, which are Windows 8, and Windows 8.1. Again, we'll be going off of these options below.
Assuming you have Windows 8, and not 8.1, (If you have 8.1, go to Step 1B and continue), do the following:
1) Download your audio driver:
A) ITD HD Audio W8: Click Here
B) ITD HD Audio W8.1: Click Here
Once you have downloaded it, do not try to install it yet.
2) To install it, go to your control panel.
3) Open your device manager.
4) Go to the sound option (usually 3/4 way down the list).
5) Click on your audio driver.
6) Right click and choose "Uninstall."
7) Once the driver is uninstalled, go to your downloads folder and double click the driver file you downloaded.
8) Follow the instructions and install the device driver.
9) Restart Windows. When you log back in, your enhancements tab should be available.
it didn't open up a web page, but went straight to downloading an .exe file. Are you not getting the same thing? Or are you using Win8, and not 8.1?Assuming you have Windows 8, and not 8.1, (If you have 8.1, go to Step 1B and continue), do the following:

I guess something is wrong. I appreciate your attempts, but I've been to that page, and I do see the drivers for download. But every time I clock the "download" button I get back to the list of countries. I don't see an exe file waiting to be downloaded. When I click a country it starts me through the process again.
