Do you feel bad knowing Sam Kirk's fate?

The actor has really made him a fun and endearing character. One I would even like to see bumped up to series regular. But it also sad because one could say he has a even worst fate than Pike. Dead at a young age. Early 30's I am guessing. His family destroyed.

On the other hand, next time I watch Operation Annihilate I'll actually view Sam Kirk as an actual character as opposed to the disposable plot device to give the episode a personal stake for Jim Kirk he was previously.
Exactly. It brings emotion in to it. It creates depth where there wasn't any before.

Feel bad? Yeah, maybe but that's the beauty of it. That shows the strength of SNW. I wouldn't trade that for some poor bad feeling.

I feel bad that Kirk shoved Peter in an orphanage and never mentioned him or his father again.

It's worst than that if you go by one of the old comics. That ship detected at the beginning of the episode that gets destroyed is actually a grown up Peter who went back in time and got infected and dies trying to leave the planet.

Feel bad? Nope. Same as I don't feel bad for Pike at the moment, and He literally knows he's a goner. But he's living his life. Still have what 7 years of life left to him?
Life is a death sentence.. just the when and where are unknown. He could easily die from .. whatever space throws at him, i meen, how many times has he been zapped? He's the un dying red shirt of the series.
