Awesome stuff when you see Star Trek numbers popping up around you!

Cool. Was that by choice or coincidence?

As far as Trek numbers popping up around me goes, my password is a good one -- . Oh, wait.

I did come close once. I saw a license plate, not vanity, where the first of the three letters was "N" and the last four numbers were 1071. Darned near the Constellation.

Not everyone who enjoys Star Trek and considers themselves a fan has a head full of trivia (like some of us).... but there are some things that you just assume 'everyone' knows.

I was invited by a new friend to a birthday party that she was throwing for her husband, who she had told me was a big Star Trek fan. I knew where the house was because of a prominent landmark, so no need for directions or an address. Halfway through the party, as I was sitting on the deck at the side of their house, I noticed what appeared to be the house number next to the door. I laughed and asked him, "Is that number a joke or is it for real?" He was confused by my question. Being more of a fan of the character and story aspects of the show, rather than the tech aspects, he had not picked up on the irony of owning a house at 1701 Alder Court.

It's to prevent parents from attempting to use their iPhones to order him to raise their kids' grades.

^ It's a good thing that Warp drive sign is up high, or else it would be in someone's basement.
I bet the local government are always finding themselves having to replace stolen street signs from along Warp Drive.

It's a short street in a corporate park, so I don't think there are many street signs. Interestingly, Orbital Sciences Corporation is located on it (they are private contractors for launching satellites, among other space-related things). I used to know someone who later took a job there. If I ever run into her again, I may ask if they have a street sign problem.

I'll be honest: I kind of shrugged this thread off last night, thinking it was kind of dumb (in my defense, I was tired and had a bit of a headache).

Fast-forward to this morning. On the way to work, I stopped off for some gas and a coffee. Guess what thread came to mind when the total came to $17.01?

That's the last time stupid me will pre-judge something! :o

I used to work with a Jimmy Kirk. He recently got married. His wife's name is Samantha. Her maiden name is Carter.

The closest I ever got to anything like that was when I worked at a YMCA. My supervisor was named Kent Clark.
