American Idol - Battle of the Davids

Who do you think will win the competition?

  • David Archuleta

    Votes: 6 37.5%
  • David Cook

    Votes: 10 62.5%

  • Total voters
    16
  • Poll closed .
Frak! How does this new poll option work? I was going to add, "Who do you want to win the American Idol title?"

What is this that the tool is singing right now? Collective Soul?

What a terrible selection. I hope the other guy is better.

/hasn't really been keeping up with this season

I hope David Cook wins this thing, but with Carley and Sayesha gone, I'm not even watching any more.

David A. had a way better night, and will win the thing. David C. has more marketable talent (in the Daughtry mold), and will likely do better. David A . is more about whiny balads, which puts him more into the Clay Aiken mold. And not a whole lot straighter-looking ;)

Bah, I thought it was a live telecast. The judges were obviously in favor of Archuleta, although DC had a good performance in Round 1. And what was with the stupid boxing theme tonight?

Congrats to your new American Idol, David Archeleta

Yeah it's unofficial, but it seemed like Cook was mailing it in. Bad choice of songs, and while he sung them well, he didn't connect the way Archie did. That, and the Judges were playing a bit of favoritism. I know the show for me doesn't start until maybe 9:55 PM tomorrow night. That way I can miss all the stuff that comes before it and just see him get the crown.

As for the show, now I'm thinking both Randy and Paula need to be fired. Randy has gotten annoying too with the same thing mouthed week after week.

I think last night proves that the final is in the fix. Here's why:

David A, without the win, would fade into obscurity after his teeny bopper debut. David C, however, will sell albums whether he won or not. I think the judges obvious praise of David A. proved that. I find him so dull I sometimes have to change the channel when he's on!

Ya, David A. will win, but David C. will sell more albums...just you wait :)

What she said; agreed 100%.... QFT

David A....by a freakin' mile.

Cook is too generic. A is really good and will get better if he doesn't screw it up (or his Daddy does).

I'm 180 on this. David A, has a great voice, and when i hear him it's like god he has a great voice...but he has no 'soul'; no character in his voice for lack of a better explanation. I would never buy any of his music.
I do think David C had one of his worse nights, but he can sing anything, the night Simon select his song proved to me he could sing and make anything his own.

shocking that Cook ended up winning. I mean, I think it was the right choice, but he had a bad night, and the other little fella seemed to have the "stupid teenage girl" demo locked up...

^^^ Geez, thanks for the lack of spoiler warning or codes. ;) There are those of us on the West Coast who are quite "behind," you know.

My God! Amanda Overmyer, David Hernandez, Chikezie ... Feels like I haven't seen them in ages.

As for whichever David wins, as I've said already, it doesn't matter at this point. They're both deserving, though it would make more sense if D. Cook indeed won. Both have mass appeal to different demographics.

And when did Bryan Adams become an old man? Wow.

EDIT:

You know, this competition reminds me of the Bush-Gore presidential election of 2000. I kind of had a feeling of who was going to win and also had a feeling of who should win.

Well, I'm just enjoying this season finale. The Top 12 were doing a George Michael medley. At some point, the guys were singing "Father Figure," and it was David Hernandez who sang the line "to be warm and naked by your side ..." He smirked, too. I thought that was done intentionally--a little insider joke, I see.

I liked the little Gladys Knight video featuring Ben Stiller, Jack Black, and Robert Downey, Jr. I thought that was cute. :)
