Trek Art and Model by me - cgi

Taranis

Lieutenant
Red Shirt
here are some Trek Art I have attempted to do in CGI over the last few years.. some are renders some will be models I have built or am in the process of building .. I have built more model then render images based on shows like Star Trek, Buck Rogers and Battlestar Galactica.

I hope you like them. as with all my work I am never happy with the final image, but please give some feed back for areas I may improve on..

I am using Imageshack .. more to come later

Hey, those are all pretty good. :) I especially like the one with the astronauts out on the hull.

thanks :techman: MadMan1701A I had a interesting time looking at your website .. super designs .. from your new universe..

I am going to redo the space dock ones as I am building a TPM style space suits to fit into them.. this is a far as I have been able too at the moment.. I hope to return to this and
a TOS version in the next few months.. this one has been
released but one I have it reworked to be set up for poses.

.
made in lightwave. a good friend of mine is working on it for his own animation.. which will be cool to see.

here are a set of star trek images .. I was think of creating a visual scene of images that are telling a story .. never finished
as it I want to add characters ..... Then I did not have the skill to add characters .. I think I have a better chance now..
but with my earlier skill which where lacking as much as the performance of my PC .. I wanted to create some atmosphere.

what lies within?????

etc

here are the last and I think the earliest work I some time cringe looking at them.

first up.. a tribute for those that are no longer here..

here is one of my fav designs .. based on the cargo ship seen in Star Trek 3 Merchantman.. one design that is not normal taken on in the cgi world.. I will be returning to complete this too at a later stage..

Really great stuff!!

I just finished making a Polar Lights OS Enterprise model with my Son... yeah, we do it old school...

...the messy way.;)

Pretty good stuff. With my work, I haven't had much time in the last couple of years to play around in 3D, as most of what I do now a days relate to signs, vehicle wraps, etc..... not too much demand for 3D stuff and it take some time to get something good in the end, which I don't have a lot of these days.

However, in the last week or so I have been drawing up something I plan on throwing together in Maya next chance I get..... might be a good time for some competition ;)

Good stuff though. Lighting and texture mapping seems to be done well.

I think the last things I worked on in Maya were some tutorials for people wanting to model various things like they did for Red Orchestra (video game/mod originally based off of Unreal Tournament 2003/4)

I modeled a Stug IV tank, a Panzerschreck, and Sten MKII and MKV SMGs.

^ They're not the most high quality, mainly because I was limiting details and quality for a poly count limit required to run the model decently in a 32 online gameplay.

^ I was also working on a Flack88 Cannon before they ported over to a full version game and at the same time I was switching over to a new full time job, so many of these things didn't get completed exactly as I would have wanted.

The last Starship I modeled in any 3D program was back when I was just starting to learn on 3D Studio Max (2.5) and used it in a 4 minute or so animated video for a project..... it got blown up along with a Romulan warbird.

Ah yes, and here's a rough idea of what I was drawing up this past week for a 3D model..... although I'm sure it'll change again soon enough: (Not finished in the slightest)

(Not image linking due to image sizes)

A bit of a cross between the Nebula class and the new Enterprise style.... Although starting in Illustrator sorta left me absent of the organic flow of designing it exactly as I'd like..... it'll be a lot better soon enough.

your modelling and textures are awesome .. far better than I was ever able to do... I know where you coming from when the darn things don't go the way to plan...

I built a klingon Bird of pray bridge for a friend and it work out better than I was expecting .. which in my experience is the exception for me :guffaw::guffaw:

my next is modelling the Classic Enterprise.

Basically, my Son built it and I painted & applied decals.
It's been a while since there was a model of the big E in my house!:techman:

Oh I want!!!!!!!!!!! .. its been years since I did any models.
but decals always made me want to rip my heir out :rommie::rommie:
well done to father and son :) bty any top images ?? you know from the front and side as seen in the show

This model might look big in my photo, but it's 11 inches long, and that makes it one of the smaller models I've ever built, but it was fun. And the decals weren't bad- they give you a choice between standard dip-in-water type, & peel-n-stick. I went with the latter because I PLAY with MY spaceships!;)
Do get one.

Oh man.

That's HALF what I paid for it!!
And the box lies; it needs to be glued:)
