Ashley's Trek Art Thread

Fleet Captain
Fleet Captain
Since my last one was me trying to come up with an Alternate Universe and I basically pitched that whole concept in the wastebin, I'm starting a new thread that is just for the art that doesn't fall into the Tiny Trek thread or non-Trek thread I have here. Thank @Atolm for this one ;)

The Caldos, originally tested on stardate 23394.2, was mothballed by Starfleet when they decided to go a less automated route than they had planned with the fleet making the Caldos a casualty of a direction change with Operations. With plenty of ships already at peacetime, the Caldos was relegated to a mothball fleetyard until stardate 48368.4 when it was ordered to be prepped for service under the perceived threat of war with the Dominion and more ships were needed after the Borg incursions.

The Caldos, while upgraded with current LCARS systems retains its original automation testbed base and requires a much smaller crew to operate efficiently than a standard Excelsior class. Her current Captain, when getting her prepped at the fleetyard, made sure to keep as much of the original ship intact from her first testing nearly twenty-six years prior. This includes a bridge module that was described as dated when it was initially installed, but the ships designers had referred to as 'classic.'

I rebuilt this in Blender based almost entirely off the original parts that @seanr released online and to eventually get ported over to DAZ Studio where this was rendered using iRay. The 'classic' chairs at the stations are completely his from a release as well, just imported into DAZ.

I did want this to have more of the Final Frontier bridge feel to it even though the rest of the ship is going to have some Generations era looks to it.

No need to thank a bum like me. Quite the contrary, the rest of us, myself included, should be thanking you for sharing your musings.
Always awesome work!

Nice work. :techman:

Thanks!

Thank you! Yeah I've wanted a Final Frontier bridge with LCARS for the longest time and this just fell into place.

I love that bridge—TMP-meets-TNG

Absolutely! They can't all be mishmash monstrosities of the week! ;)
