Revell USS Voyager

I've heard that the Revell model of the Voyager is pretty rare but actually how rare is it and how much is it worth?
I don't know. I think I bought it for like $35-40. It was a great kit, really well designed and with a lot of detail. A lot better than the AMT movie Enterprise kit (that one's a terribly designed kit).

I have an Unbuilt Starship Voyager Model kit. I think it was made by Monogram. It was mailed to me at Chanukah.I got it years ago.
I've sold several unbuilt model kits on Ebay--mostly military stuff that I had no desire to build. But certain models--like the Voyager--just call out for you to build them, you know?

Uggggh, I know. I built that thing twice, the nacelle struts sagged on both of them. I was just a kid, so the idea of modifying them didn't occur to me.
The Voyager model is one of the better models, along with the Runabout, which was fun because of the bigger scale.

I can't remember whether mine was by Revell or Monogram. I want to say it was Revell though.
Whatever, it was a pretty big model and it turned out great. Every hull plate and sensor was painted.

Yeah, that's what I'm talking about with the AMT Enterprise. It's hard to believe that the guy who designed that kit was that stupid. The struts sag under the weight of the nacelles. Worse, they intersect with the secondary hull in a "strongback" which is two seperate pieces, NOT ONE!
I'm sure my model is again in pieces in the box I put it in.
That Enterprise is my favorite but man, that kit really sucks.

I have wanted to revisit a model of that ship, it's my favorite. I know there's a japanese company, Bandai maybe, that put out a lighted and prepainted kit of the E-A...I just remember going to bed after I had finishe dassmebly on that frickin' model and waking up to warp nacelled with a frowny face...very disheartening.

Isn't Revell Monogram all one company?

because there aren't enough people who want one. It's supply and demand, there's no demand for something so there is no supply. I doubt a company will spend money to make some models for a dozen people who are posting about it on some message board.
If you want one you can find them on Ebay.
I've got the Voyager set, made up and on a shelf. One of the few surviving models from my child hood, the others being Enterprise-E, DS9, Runabout and Babylon 5.

They did have a kit of the original Galactica from the late 70s series that they reissued several years ago, I believe. I think they did it around the time of the new BSG's premiere.
I haven't seen a kit of the new ships though.
I pretty much missed the whole Star Trek model craze. Fortunately, I grew up in a small town and the local hobby shop had a couple of each one that never sold for whatever reason. I wish they would have released more guest ships (although the Excelsior model covered 90% of those
)
That said, I would love it if AMT/ERTL or somebody else would come out with a big and detailed Nebula-class model (this ship seems extremely popular, so I don't know why they never thought of it). I suck at making them (and I use them as toys anyway) so having to order a kitbash kit on-line really doesn't appeal to me all that much.
Knowing my luck, though, I'll probably see a Curry-class model before the Nebula.

That's the box that I got. Maybe the international/export version was slightly different...?
Mine was a very sturdy model, second only to the runabout.
