Being on opposite sides of a large country, I imagine there is.Is there a difference between the Ontario & Vancouver accents?
You have a fascinating idea of what a "middle aged dumpy" body looks like. By your measure I basically belong in a morgue!
Who's to say that Nurse Chapel wasn't "Australian"?A semblance of continuity?
He had a presence about him. He was like that in Daredevil too.It wasn't till E03 that I got to hear M'Benga speak more. He does have a very distinctive voice. I'm used to various African accents having a lot of friends from there, but apart from that he has a really quiet authority to him. A very cool customer.

O_O
I'm sure if you look up Nurse's named Chapel in Australia, you'll probably find a hit or two in the Nurse Index.
Accents are mutable.Oh, certainly: "Caucasian"/"white" (jeez, neither term is truly accurate) individuals can have varied ethnic backgrounds. The "canon" accent of a given television character, however, is a bit of sticky issue.
Why can't they just let her use her natural Aussie accent?
A semblance of continuity?
I rarely see a doctor now even in a big office. Usually Nurse Practioners, and Physicians Assistants. One or two doctors probably are sufficient.Did anyone notice how large the sickbay on 1701 is?
I liked it. It makes it look like a proper medical bay capable of handling numerous cases... though, wouldn't they need more doctors in that case (unless automation and a whole bunch of nurses are doing the work).
I assume M'Benga has a "M'Benga" of his own.I rarely see a doctor now even in a big office. Usually Nurse Practioners, and Physicians Assistants. One or two doctors probably are sufficient.
You can have a different ethnic background but still have the same look. I know not everyone on the show is actually from California but they all have this kinda clean cut perfect skinned Hollywood look. Everyone on the crew looks like a 90s Gap model to me.How do you mean? California is one of the most diverse/cosmopolitan states in the union; you can find virtually anyone from every ethnic background there.
Maybe that is part of the benefits package of living in the UFP / StarFleet? You can have a different ethnic background but still have the same look. Ya maybe. Still think the crew could do with a few more worn or grizzled looking people.Maybe that is part of the benefits package of living in the UFP / StarFleet?

O'Brien would disagree with the claims of this Utopia I reckon. And Meaney is exactly the kind of actor I think is missing looks wise.If UFP / StarFleet is as much of a Utopia as everybody within the show claims it is.
Nobody would ever be "Over-Worked" because there would be "Work-Life Balance" under most normal circumstances.
The only times that would happen is in dire emergency situations when you are short of staff and something critical needs to get done and nobody else can help pitch in, so you got to put in extra time to finish whatever it is you're doing.
