I really don't understand the problem people seem to have with the Doctor's voice. M'Benga and Spock are the only ones on SNW I can understand without turning on the subtitles, and I'm not even a native english speaker. And I somehow like his voice!

It's a combination of timbre, volume, speed and a specific technical lexicon. On occasion, there are also set acoustics to take into account, but that problem plagues other actors as well.
